The Amazing Digital Circus - Western Isekai that probably will become Hazbin Hotel killer

I cannot express how much I fucking hate Jax's design.

Dude literally has the most punchable face in the galaxy, and yeah I know that's probably the entire point of his character but there's a thing such as "too fucking smug and faggot" looking. And what makes it even more irritating is that you know fujoshitters and autistic foidchildren and gonna be creaming themselves all over this purple faggot because "he's such a heckkin smug wisecracking asshole tumblr sexyman u guize, OMG!!!!" *writes 900 pages of fanfiction of him topping their Donut Steel*
Sam from Sam and Max is a much better designed funny haha psycopath rabbit character than whatever Jax is trying to be.
Probably doesn't help that he kind of sounds like David Spade.

I enjoyed this but then again I enjoy anything circus/clown related. I didn't think it was as balls out amazing as it's made out to be though. Probably didn't help that I'd found this through the comments on a Not Your Normal Kids Show video which I think does the concept better.

The amazing digital circus is proof that Gooseworx should stick to abstract, silent characters. Writing is definitely not "her" strongsuit.

Digital Circus suffers from what most current year media suffers from: word vomit. Not sure if your joke is funny enough? Just say as many jokes as possible per line of dialog and if people don't laugh at your comedy stylings they'll laugh at how uhhhmmm lol awkwarrrrd your characters are. Bonus points if they're yelling because loud = funny.

Here's my thoughts on the series so far from the Glitch Productions thread for those who haven't seen it yet:
To start, for the past 7-8 years, western animation has pretty much been dominated by the far-left/Tumblr/TDS crowd. It's gotten to a point where you really can't pull up a new major show and not have to worry about some sort of political message, or demigender people with pink-tinted shaven hair in it. It's unbelievable just how bad things have gotten since Steven Universe blew up. And in a way, the situation with animation we have today is the natural result of all of that. Thanks to a huge host of shows failing to do the numbers or make the cultural impact that Adventure Time, Regular Show, or Gravity Falls did a decade ago, we are now seeing animation either kicked to the curb, or locked into a circumstance where the only things getting greenlit are either baby/pre-k-aimed shows or reboots. Kevin and Nick actually discuss this in one of their update videos.

To make matters worse, the streaming wars are now at a point where the platforms themselves and some of the companies that own them are in the process of imploding. WBD has been going hard on layoffs and cost-cutting ever since Zaslav took over, with Cartoon Network and Rooster Teeth being hit especially hard. Just recently, CN Studios was consolidated into WB's animation division, with staff being forced to move out of the office where most of CN's biggest hits were made. Meanwhile Disney has been bleeding money as Daddy Iger keeps doubling down on dumb business move after dumb business move while having to contend with needing to pay for an over 20 billion dollar purchase of Hulu. It's gotten so bad for them that Nelson Peltz has to step in, potentially to purge the entire company's board. If not, there's a good chance Iger's gonna stick with the company until 2032.

We're at a point now where even Hazbin Hotel is looking it's not gonna live up to all the hype it built up since before the pilot premiered, and it's gonna get dumped on Amazon and make as much of an impact as a wet fart. After doing research on Glitch Productions, they seem to have built a sizable following with their original shows, despite their flaws. AFAIK, the two original shows they're in the process of working on (Murder Drones and TADC) actually try to veer more towards telling a compelling story instead of trying to be reflection of [CURRENT YEAR] or shoehorn a political message. TADC is an especially interesting case, since that show was created by a troon. When I saw that pilot, it actually clicked with me. I was shocked. I've been burned so many times on western animation in the past, that having a show that almost gives me the same sense of mystery as Gravity Falls with no sign of any [current year] shoehorning almost feels too good to be true.

I want this show to be good. I want to feel confident that this show won't eventually go the way of Steven Universe, or any other [current year] animated show made since after Orange Man got elected. The positive response to the pilot has actually been refreshing to see across the board. Even people on this very site liked it. It actually reminds me of the "Iron Age" that Razorfist has been discussing in some of his videos: an age where independent media can rise without needing to be beholden to ESG, corporate oversight, or Twitter's whims. Even then, Kevin and Luke pulled the "make 'em gay at the last second" card at the end of Meta Runners, so there is precedent for things to go south. I don't really know how else to convey how conflicted I feel on the whole matter. It's one of those situations where you don't know whether or not this will finally be "the one."

It almost feels like a mirror to the overall setup for the show itself, Pomni's trapped in clown world, either trying to tell herself it's all just a dream, or slowly beginning to lose sanity over the idea that the whole situation will last an eternity. That's how I feel about the current state of western animation and if not this show, I really do hope that someone else is able to make something good.
Special mention also goes to this point brought up by Runch:
The whole thing is an obvious metaphor for the zoomer mindset: being born into a world offering fun and endless adventure, but feeling a strange desperation that you should be more free than you are. Giving up and embracing the fun that's spoon-fed to you is the only thing that keeps you from going insane. Looking up beyond your entertainment, you won't find anything but endless drudgery, cubicles, and death. The promise of entertainment (and the dull hope of further attempts at finding meaning) is the only thing that drags you back from the void.

What's funny is it's also a metaphor for the internet and living under the megacorp media regime. No Pomni, you're not allowed to say nigger. The show is an acknowledgement of the lame gilded cages and walled gardens everyone is stuck in, but since it's made by a troon it's not going to be smart enough to offer a real solution.
Also, Pomni is cute. :)
Hope Cooper doesn't make her or any of the other characters "trans all along".

Alright, so how long until I start seeing bootleg plushies of this crap being sold in the streets? That shit spreads like a plague and I don't know why.

Someone needs to publish a deontological injunction against thinking you're in a dream. It's getting very old. It's been gamed out with regards to multiple regret metrics (actually assuming simulation hypothesis, but pretty much the same thing), and it's not useful at all. Pretty much the only thing you can try is to be interesting, in case anyone's watching, but apart from that you should not behave any differently. That means no rape, no suicide, and absolutely no fatalism/"waiting for it to be over".

My prediction is that if that happens, Zooble will be the tranny since her(?) design looks a lot like Gooseworx’s avatar.
I mean according to Gooseworx Zooble is having an identity crisis and doesn't know what gender she is, soooo...

It's pretty good, but I still do not get why people are obsessed over this, but I'm not surprised either

First, I think it's really god damn funny that the creator has a fetish for drilling peoples' heads. Secondly, it's popularity is going to lead to another sperg fandom being made. Just another one to add to the pile of retarded fandoms.
Good, more fuel for the fire.

Anyways i can't complain, it wasn't a horrible watch or anything, but I'm not interested in seeing another episode. This feels like something that'd be a failed pilot in better times, and it success just says more about how utterly fucked the animation industry is.

Is Gooseworx a confirmed tranny? I won't allow myself to like anything permeated with a troon's shitty amhole smell. I'm going to start calling Pomni "Giggly Troonclown".
