This guy is saying that Digital Circus hates its fans and that's what makes it so good (?)
I highly doubt Lackadaisy will stray from its original pitch, given that the original Lackadaisy comics have been around since 2006 and are packed with lore. Lackadaisy has an advantage over other indie cartoons: it has over two decades of material to work with.

Seriously, looking back at the history of Lackadaisy, you could say it's essentially Tracey J. Butler's life's work. It would be a terrible idea to discard much of the material she dedicated a significant portion of her life to creating.
If you're interested, here are some links to two compilation books of Lackadaisy's comics up to 2016:
https://archive.org/details/lackadaisy-Volume-1-by-tracy-j-butler/mode/2up
https://archive.org/details/Lackadaisy-Volume-2-by-Tracy-J-Butler/mode/2up
This is unrelated, I don't know if you already knew, but Glitch confirmed that Lackadaisy will only have 6 episodes.

I don't know if they're going to make more seasons of Lackadaisy, but if Lackadaisy only has 1 season, that means Meta Runner will still be Glitch's longest-running original show to date.
If I write about this episode in the Merchandise-Driven page on TV Tropes, the fandom is going to be very angry.
Don't you understand the point of this whole "Indie Renaissance"? In case you didn't know, these are cartoons that give total creative freedom to their original creators, something that corpos would never do, and Glitch, being the "Savior of Western animation", must be the prime example of this. If people found out that Glitch sabotaged the production of one of their series, a large part of the internet would be furious with them, and they would lose the respect they've earned over the last few years.
Oh boy, If that ends up happening, then the Murder Drones fandom would be jealous. I remember back in 2024, when it was announced that Digital Circus would be getting a manga adaptation and that it would be on Netflix, despite only having three episodes at the time, Twitter was flooded with posts from Murder Drones fanboys with mixed opinions.

I don't like the name of your Twitter handle (the word below the username, in case you didn't know)

I don't know if you think this meme has aged badly or not, I want to read your opinions.

OK, first of all, Murder Drones had 8 episodes, Meta Runner had 28 episodes and a failed pilot for a spin-off, so I can understand why they are angry. Second, the Meta Runner fandom is a graveyard, which is why no one is complaining.
I know that Murder Drones has gotten a lot of new things this year, as Glitch tries to capitalize on its late-blooming popularity, like with the Amazon Prime deal. However, in my opinion, this deal isn't that special anymore, since Amazon has been adding tons of YouTube stuff to its service, I mean, now you can watch Mr. Beast and Game Theory on Amazon Prime. Hell, now you can watch fucking Italian Brainrot on Amazon Prime.
Because what this world really needs is a streaming service where we can have Uzi Doorman and Tung Tung Tung Sahur in the same place.
Speaking Murder Drones and Italian Brainrot, I know I should post this in the Glitch thread, but I just want to get rid of this screenshot. Look what I found in a TikTok comments section:

Clanker embracing Clanker meme
This is just my personal opinion, but I like Alex Rochon as Caine, he's easily the best voice actor in the entire series. I also like Lizzie Freeman as Pomni, her voice surprisingly fits the character perfectly, and I say this because, this is a very personal opinion, but I don't like Lizzie Freeman as Meggy, her voice sounds forced, especially when she's trying to be cute.
Again, this is my personal opinion, because I know there are many people who genuinely lovemasturbating listening to Lizzie Freeman's Meggy voice, and many were saddened that she stopped voicing her so soon, I mean, she only lasted a year as Meggy. It's not that I don't like Lizzie Freeman, it's just that I don't like her as Meggy Spletzer. (Well, I don't like Meggy at all, for starters).
I believe you, and I bet the fandom will unironically find those scenes touching. They'll be like the Modern SMG4 fandom with the forced emotional moments.
And guess which show did a Real Life episode?
For some reason they removed it from the main channel, which is a shame since this is one of the most unique SMG4 episodes of all time.
They can do something with the plushies like in minute 9:14 of this video, but that would come across as product placement.
Sorry for going off-topic, but seeing the name Glados after searching for SMG4 videos makes me want to post one of the best battles in the entire SMG4 franchise here.
The 2013-2017 era of SMG4 was truly special.
It always been a thing with Glitch, you can trace it back to SMG4. Since 2018, cheap and forced drama was used on the series in order to make it look serious and mature. Kevin had a different vision for the show that Luke had, and when more writters came to work on the show, they had to follow Kevin's vision for the series. They prioritized melodramatic scenes above all else, which is why the final product has poor pacing, many narrative inconsistencies and retcons.
Hey, they need to pay the animators really well, they're carrying the whole show.
And that's why SMG4's shift from funny to serious never worked, regardless of what the fandom wants to make you believe. There was no basis or reason to turn what was essentially Looney Tunes with South Park humor starring Mario characters into a serialized, anime-inspired, lore-based dramedy. It all felt very forced, and the push for this new direction was so contrived that the series suffered a severe identity crisis for the remainder of its run. It continued to be promoted as the wacky crazy (but no longer retarded, since they stopped using slurs after 2018.) comedy of Mario and Friends, even though the episodes no longer reflected that. It wasn't until these last few years that they abandoned the Mario selling point to promote Mr. Puzzles, in addition to the pressure of being sued by Nintendo. So now you have a wacky, self-aware, meme-filled animated comedy in Garry's Mod, which at the same time wants to be a lore-heavy, animesque show where the characters fight eldritch abominations or get involved in conspiracies, and then brag about how much character development they had, even though later episodes never reflect such a thing.
But hey, who cares about well-written characters and stories when your show has hot, sexy and fetishizable waifus?

(I didn't add the Caine censor bar, it was already included in the original post).
Or... they manage to distance Mr. Puzzles from SMG4 and create a spin-off about him. Mr. Puzzles is one of the few things that kept the SMG4 fandom busy after the redesigns, and the only thing that genuinely attracted Glitch fans who weren't SMG4 fans, since he was basically fandom bait. And with the immense popularity of characters like Vox from Hazbin Hotel and Tenna from Deltarune, I doubt Glitch will get rid of its own "Mysterious TV-headed character who wears a bowtie suit and a hat". I have a feeling they're going to do something with him afterward, now that SMG4 is over. (Honestly, it would be very sad if Mr. Puzzles became the sole legacy of SMG4 going forward).
Sorry for talking so much about SMG4 in this post, I promise this is the last I have to say about it for today.
I don't think either of them will be a cash cow, both shows are aimed at the more sophisticated Indie Enthusiasts on the internet, they don't really have the (unintentional) multiple demographic appeal that Digital Circus has, and they aren't very toyetic, so I doubt their merchandise will be in high demand. Funnily enough, Murder Drones has the potential to be a toyetic brand, as robots with Sonic-esque proportions translate very well into plush toys and action figures.
I don't think it's necessary. Besides, I don't know how this particular show would pull off a Christmas episode, either the show would have to take place in December, or they'd have to trick Caine into thinking it's Christmas. You can't just keep these characters in the circus until Christmas, it would practically extend the time they're trapped there. The only way I can think of for a Digital Circus Christmas episode to work is if they make it non-canon.
Anyway, if you really want a Digital Circus Christmas episode, the closest thing to it is this old content farm animation. This is from the same people who made the K-Pop Demon Hunters animations that I posted in this thread last time.
DISCLAIMER: This animation contains elements from Digital Circus that are not canon to the show, such as Kaufmo being part of the main cast or Pomni's human form being a child.
Note: The channel were this was first uploaded got deleted, but fortunately the video was reuploaded on another channel. This is the original thumbnail, I took it from the Spanish version of the channel.

Fun fact: This channel predicted the evil versions

And they made an evil Gangle!

Speaking of old animations, I remembered something the other day. You see, there's this channel called Wonderland, a kids channel that makes animations with anthropomorphic numbers. One day of late 2023, they uploaded a video that might look familiar to you.
They also made episode 2, but nothing after that. At least they give credits to Glitch and Gooseworx in the description.
Gotta love that they say the "figurine thing" line as it is, completely without knowing the context.
I wonder if Lackadaisy or Gaslight district can stick to the pitch, but I doubt it.

Soooo was the beach stuff literally just for the trailer and merch?
If I write about this episode in the Merchandise-Driven page on TV Tropes, the fandom is going to be very angry.
In any case, don't pay a vore fetishist troon to write about ~the trauma,~ le heckin' gender, and how his fast food job sucked.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Baby's First I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream got a second season, if the sales are good enough
The fact that this is going to be only 9 episodes only makes this more egregious and, again, is the reason why I think they'll milk it more afterwards. Not revealing there'll be a second season may be a part of it, but also may be withheld from Gooseworx himself because he cannot shut the fuck up. If he's the head writer, it really shows, because this is some shit writing.
Hell, actual basic setting information may actually be withheld until the next season if the sales are good enough
The only thing that would surprise me if there isn't some kind of hook at the end for future seasons, starting 2027 with a new line of teaser merch dropping by December 2026.
Oh boy, If that ends up happening, then the Murder Drones fandom would be jealous. All the main voice actors are bad and sound like high school anime club nerds doing a fandub of an anime.

Episode 8 will feature more trauma dumps and everyone will cry when yesterday none of them cared about escaping.
I believe you, and I bet the fandom will unironically find those scenes touching. They'll be like the Modern SMG4 fandom with the forced emotional moments.
Actually, the REAL subversion would be if they escaped and the show didn't end. The cast would be in real life and we find out it's a lot more complicated than it looked so it's not over yet. It would require very good writing to pull off tho.
And actors that would match the essence of their cartoon counterparts but you're asking too much for an independent production at that point (casting, location scouting, etc.).
And guess which show did a Real Life episode?
For some reason they removed it from the main channel, which is a shame since this is one of the most unique SMG4 episodes of all time.

This makes me wonder how would glados run the circus

The 2013-2017 era of SMG4 was truly special.
That's the point, it prioritizes drama over story, narration and consistency.
Glitch's entire business model seems to be baiting the audience with drama and flashy reversals above all else

I noticed they really upped the amount of merch they're selling. You guys think they're trying to make as much bank as they possibly can because the ending their planning is some stupid twist that will rugpull viewers and poison the brand beyond repair?
Hey, they need to pay the animators really well, they're carrying the whole show.
Shows changing their focus happens all the time, but the way it happens is very important. Episodic shows becoming serialized is surprisingly common, but it works, as the episodic episodes do the worldbuilding and establish character relations, while the serialized episodes later on build upon these established ideas. This works.
You don't need a central story to make a good cartoon. Just take a look at Smiling Friends; it is really popular despite almost every episode being self-contained

I feel like Knjghts of Guinevere could be their next cash cow.
We also got The Gaslight District. Currently, its pilot still has more views than KoG's.

I'm surprised they haven't done a Christmas themed episode.
