I wonder what went on there. Her verbiage is weird; she says it's the first time she "with" her birth mom. Have they had an online/phone relationship before now? I don't keep too much track of Rafe, but I know she lives with her gramma; was she raised by her? I wonder what the circumstances for this meetup were?

But as I recall: Rafe was adopted. Both those parents are dead now. The lady that she and Hannah live with is IIRC Hannah's grandmother, whom Hannah is a quasi-caretaker for.
