Like they did with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band in 2017 and The Beatles (the White Album) in 2018, they're releasing a newly remixed version of Abbey Road this september,, and they've released one of the songs on youtube already:

Plus an alternate instrumental take:

And they both sound fabulous <3

It'll be just like with Sgt. Pepper and the White Album, with the first LP/CD being the remixed album and the next two being alternate takes/outtakes, and this time they're putting in a bluray with a 5.1 surround mix of the album and more extras. I can barely wait ;-;

Thing is, people have been wondering why Apple Corps hasn't released anniversary editions of the beatles albums before Sgt. Pepper (Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale, Help, Rubber Soul, Revolver) and misc albums like the Yellow Submarine soundtrack and Magical Mystery Tour, but from what I've read they don't really have unreleased materials for all those (maybe they do for Yellow Submarine/Magical Mystery Tour but almost all the songs in Yellow Submarine were released on other albums or as singles and MMT still is half original songs and half existing songs), and in the case of the oldest Beatles albums they have lost the masters meaning they couldn't do much to remix them like they did with Sgt. Pepper and co.

Which honestly sucks because I'd kill to be able to listen to a proper Stereo mix of my favourite album of all time, Revolver.

I'm not seeing the Grey Album mentioned?
It's the verses from Jay-Z's Black album, with beats made out of Beatles samples from the White album. Here's a slice:

Even better is Wu-Tang Vs. The Beatles:

So the abbey road super deluxe anniversary edition has been out on torrent sites and I took a peek and it's pretty great, but there are also times when you feel they muted the drums, and Ringo's drumming was half of what made beatles songs sound like beatles songs so you get I Want You (She's So Heavy) that sounds almost completely different because the drums don't have the same impact and oomf as the original version, but otherwise the rest is pretty excellent.

There were also other songs released on youtube before the proper release date (Which happens to be today, September 27):

Revolution 9 is incredible in that it's a 53 year old song and yet I've never heard anything that even comes as close to being so nightmarish

Someday I'd like to drop acid and listen to it on high quality headphones because I guess I just want to see what going to Hell is like

I used to love listening to this on LP:

Annoyingly the track immediately after is Octopus Garden.

I will never get over smash mouth doing a Beatles cover for the cat in the hat movie, those words should never be in a sentence together.

God I love the Beatles but some of their fanbase is awful. Examples:

Penny Laners / Beatlecirclejerkers

Basically they are just edgelords who think anything edgy is funny. (But there are some good people there, sadly most are edgelords)

Atilla00

A Turkish fan who got banned for trying to ask for leaked cassettes of George Harrison demos. He accepts any god damn thing you give him if you say it's "Unbootleged" (Footage of John Lennon on the toilet, obviously faked outtakes that you could make in a few minutes). The most scumbaggiest thing he did was a few days ago when he scammed a dude to get some Unbootleged footage of the Beatles in India to trade. His YouTube channels, Atilla00 and Pianoman is just stolen footage from official channels, fake footage, low quality bargain bin footage or footage he stole from fan restorations or bootleg DVD's.

Nowhere Melon

This kid wants attention so bad he once DM me on Discord saying he would kill himself saying "People would be partying that he died". Discovered his Instagram, he had a Hitler photo that is supposed to be funny?

Iamaphoney

This is a oldie but a goodie. This guy wanted to promote his music so he based his stuff around PID (In short, the belief Paul McCartney died in 1966 and got replaced by a lookalike called Billy Shears or William Campbell). He then had a group to help him out. Most are pedos who are creepy around woman and probably take a bath every few century or peopld who unironically believes this crap. They are planning to kill Paul in a few years (would like to see them attempt it) because if they don't, he will turn into the anti-christ (Yes, this is the same person who made Wonderful Christmas Time and Temporary Secretary). They search through everything, albums, films, pictures, interviews, books, etc. just to find clues that Paul died "Look, Paul has a slightly fatter nose in this one!" Iamaphoney seems to dropped off the face of the earth, but the cult he accidentally made still lives on.

Gorginggeorge

Someone on A03, Furaffinity and Wattpad who makes Beatles Inflation art. They put politics in it for no reason, their drawings put Chris Chan to shame, their stories have 10 hours worth of content and worst of all, he makes art of Sexy Fat Nurse Paul McCartney, seriously, what the fuck? I wonder who the fuck would jerk off to this....

the get back doc is legit fucking amazing

I've never been a huge fan of the Beatles but do like the music. To me, they get better the more I explore their discography. Still though, I am not a mega fan. I find this documentary fascinating for a lot of reasons. I think the mythos might be part of the reason. Like, you feel like you're watching history in the making. You're seeing lightning captured in a bottle.

Also, it was shot on film, and the way they processed and presented it makes it look like it was recorded last week. Seeing a time capsule from so long ago look so contemporary is weird. It has an uncanny sense to it. Everything from the 1960's was still real quality and not utter shit like it is now.

It's before my time, and I know that the whole John Lennon/Yoko Ono thing was scandalous, but at the same time, Cynthia Lennon is horrific-looking. Even in her prime, she had this whole uncanny valley thing going on and toward the end of her life she looked like a cross between an aging transvestite and a melted candle.

The members released better works solo than they did when they were a band, IMO. John is probably the most overrated of them.

I'm not sure...there were some good Wings stuff, but I can't name anything George or Ringo did. John's stuff is overrated trash.

There's something about some bands that just "work" and others just don't. One of those is the Traveling Wilburys, a band that George joined with Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, and Tom Petty. Dream team on paper, actual band not so much. Their songs were okay at best.

This is an example of George/Ringo badge engineered music strategy.

Extra credit if you play both versions together.

Happiness Is A Warm Gun is an amazing song. They managed to pack so much into less than 3 minutes.
