The Beer Thread

Tried one called 'Jail Ale' last night. My God this is a lovely malty beer, Thank fuck for Sainsbury's pro-Apartheid views else I likely would have missed the new range at Morrison's.

I tried drinking Guinness for the first time tonight not being with a meal...never again. I can't even eat or drink anything else after two bottles. And I feel like it burnt my tastebuds off with tobacco ashes.
For sure a pilsner/lager guy.
i almost exclusively drink Tsingtao and Heineken, do you know of any beers that taste kind of like them

Miller genuine draft gets a bad rep as a cheap beer that's basically piss water but if you get it in a glass bottle (the only way to drink beer) it's actually good and lives to its name of tasting like it's fresh from a tap. I had a six of the stuff and some kfc wings back when the pandemic started to recreate a night out at the bar with friends

Colt 45 recently changed the design of their aluminum cap, it seems. It's a lot thinner and more brittle, too.

You can't even get sloshed on nigger beer without being reminded of how much chinks fucked the world!

I stopped caring about caps when they stopped putting rebuses under them. Why bother if it isn't for something, y'know?

A couple years ago I was in Yakima WA and went to shoot darts at the bar with some acquaintances. They were selling Rainer longnecks with the rebuses by the bucket. I about shit myself. The glory still lives.

a liquor store near me caries this brand called crazy cowboy. it's apparently put out by the same people who make arizonia teas (at least where i live) which explains why each can is only 99 cents for a tall boy can. and it's not even a malt liquor its a 5-8 abv malt based beer. reviews have called it skunky and aful tasting but hey im plastered after like two cans of this stuff and my sense of smell and taste is gone so it doesn't matter to me by then. easy way to spend 6 bucks and get wasted easy

Decided a year ago with a friend of mine we'd like to try a proper home brew project (we've donw it before). This idea evolved when we got offered a new-old stock PLC unit, programming interface and some servos from a friends business. Naturally as people who like to pretend they know shit about engineering the project has now evolved into a fully automatic home brewing rig that looks like the unholy spawn of Cthulu and C3PO. It has yet to do anything even close to work.

Enjoying a nice cold coors banquet. It's actually a pretty good beer for a cheap price, it has a distinct malt flavor when it's ice cold that I can't get enough of.

Tonight's dessert is the Drekker Pineapple Upside Down Cake Slang Du Jour.

Oh my god it is just disgustingly good.

And tonight we're doing a kettle sour.

Very tasty. Not a dessert beer per se, but it's really fucking good.

Toppling Goliath is awesome!
Honestly they make some of the best pales/IPAs I've had to date, and a lot of their other offerings are outstanding. Some of their stuff is a bit pricey (Dragon Fandango's pretty damn expensive but that's kind of normal for sours) but you're getting at least most of your money's worth. They're doing another run of Dolphin Sparkles lately. Intergalactic Warrior was pretty popular when that came through, and Pseudo Sue/King Sue are generally quite popular. Mornin' Latte is one I kind of want to try.

Mornin' Latte is really good. It's thick and heavy-- hard to drink more than one lol

Tonight's a dunkel, a "vanilla" dunkel.

"Vanilla" in quotation marks because it somehow doesn't taste quite right for vanilla. It's not... bad, but it's certainly not great either. Not a great dunkel, not great vanilla, just OK.

Could do worse, but I'm sure you could do better. Calling this a Munich-style dunkel would probably upset Germans.

Budweiser's run of Reserve Beers were absolutely stellar beers that in my tastes were just as good as the fancy imported beers you can only get at Beer Gardens or European restaurants. I sincerly hope Budweiser brings them back in the future.

Beyond that my favorite Macro Beer you can find in most bars is Newcastle. I think they actually got better now in taste that Lagunitas produces them in America.

Light Beers are by and large abominations on life itself. Kona Light Blonde Ale is actually solid though.
