The Beer Thread

I generally prefer hard liquor to beer, but I do like Heineken a lot and enjoy PBR unironically (I remember when PBR was a redneck beer instead of a hipster beer). Other than that, I don't care much for most beers. Especially Miller 64, that shit is terrible. Budweiser is similarly overrated and terrible.

If we're counting flavored beers, I do like Redd's Apple Ale.

Surprisingly, Arizona breweries put out some good shit on a fairly regular basis. I'm quite partial to San Tan's Sex Panther chocolate porter, though it's only made from late November to mid January, IIRC.

Oooh, then there's this neat little brew: http://www.hussbrewing.com/beer-type/koffee-kolsch/

Other than that, I'm a sucker for Japanese beers, Asahi in particular.

I don't know that much about beer, but IPAs are nice.
Last week I tried Guinness for the first time and enjoyed it too.
But usually I just drink at parties with my friends and have whatever cheap beer they've picked up this time.

Whats American beer got in common with sex in a canoe?

It's fucking close to water.

Having said that I had a half decent American IPA the other night.

My favourite beer Fuller's ESB

And right now I have a hobgoblin sitting next to me , from one of them new fangled home kegs. Not bad :)

I second this motion too in my preferences. The darker the beer, the more I enjoy it. Old Rasputin is especially one of my favorites, though the Iron Horse Brewery in Ellensburg, WA makes a good dark ale. I actually had a growler of Quilter's Irish Death to myself last weekend.

I've never liked any beer I've tasted. I've had some craft beers and they tasted very similar to regular beer to me. I just can't seem to keep the stuff down. Is it more of an acquired tasted than some would have me believe?

It can be. Some people just don't like the taste of yeast or hops.

I stir towards ales and craft lager.

John Smiths tastes like shitty piss and would rather drink Carlsberg/Fosters.

I personally enjoy pilsners and lagers, but I do enjoy the occasional IPA. Got to say that my favorites are Gumballhead and 80 Acre, the first of those two is pretty hard to come across though.

Märzen, Zwickel and the occasional Weissbier. Everything you can drink a bit more of.

I may joke about Steel Reserve, but it's not my go-to.

I do like a nice IPA. The last one I got to drink was a Sweet Georgia Brown from Sweetwater Brewery. I also like a good Guinness with that chocolate feel to it.
