The Beer Thread

I'll admit it, when it comes to the cheapo beers, I actually do kind of like Old Milwaukee.

Never cared for Rolling Rock, Natty Light, or any of the other low-end beers but I do enjoy Old Milwaukee on occasion.

For what it's worth, it's better than Budweiser, the most overrated beer in existence.

But when I do go for a beer, my first choice is Heineken or Miller.

Used to live across town from a liquor store that had a plethora of odd Eastern European beers. If I had to pick a brewery, I'd have to pick Baltika. They're still relatively cheap where I'm at and the #9 tastes pretty good for an 8%.
Well thats not Polish beer. Eastern Europe has very good beer, Budweiser is very drinkable, its just to expensive.

I mostly drink expensive special stronger beer. price is not an issue in germany, you can get a Can of decent Beer for 70 cents. smaller local beer is also not more expensive than major brand beer. the difference between my fav beer from a little brewery and Becks is 5 cent per bottle.

Baltika is honestly not bad in my experience. I have a bottle of the porter tucked away somewhere. Still haven't tried Karlovacko (Karlovachko? Special characters or something idk I think it's Croatian, could be wrong). Can't think of any other Eastern European/Slavic import stuff I've seen recently.

I like the jet fuel from Rinkuškiai. It's cheap (like $3-$4 a bottle), the labels and names are great, and you really only need one to get the warm fuzzies.

Tonight: Devastator Doppelbock from Wasatch. Favorite of mine. Less head than I remember it having.

Tonight I'm drinking Juice Bigalow: Hop Gigolo. Why somebody saw fit to name a beer after Deuce Bigalow, I don't know.

It's not bad.

Mix any beer with equal quantities of sugar, brown sugar for stout, but maybe you gargle so many wangs you want an IPA. Heat to when it starts bubbling a bit, immediately reduce to simmer, reduce to about a third of its original volume.

Ridiculously good sauce, and better than drinking weak bitch shit like stout as a beverage, instead of just drinking whiskey or rum.

God no don't use an IPA for a sauce or put sweet stuff in it. Jesus fuck no. Not even the euro IPAs.

I hate IPA's and wheat beers other than that everything else goes. Beers high in IBU's (international bitter units) I don't like. A general rule of thumb for me personally is anything higher than 50 IBU's I won't like. Theres some wiggle room, but that's the general rule. I use to hit up microbreweries all the time, but as I get older got less time, so I can't go to them like I use to. Now I am apart of Firestone Walkers brewmasters reserve which has sufficed.

Crabbie's actually did a pretty good IPA-ginger beer mix a few years back.
...That might actually work.

Firestone Walker is solid, generally.

People who don't like bitterness don't like it because they prefer the sweetness of male semen. Prove me wrong.

If bitter's all there is it gets old really fast. See: "hop-forward" IPAs like Surly Furious. It's so BORING. I'd rather have a barleywine like Sierra Nevada Bigfoot because it actually has respectable ABV and something there besides the bracing bite.

Lol I can't speak for other haters of IPA's and bitterness but I do like bitterness just not bitterness when it pertains to beer. I can actually drink coffee black and enjoy it. I like all drinks. Coffee, tea, wine (red & white), beers (except 2 types) even liquor also. I like more peated whiskeys. My tastes are diverse when it comes to drinks, diverse like the folks in the alphabet community.

Problem is that IPAs are bad beer made by monkey from rubbish.
a 40 IBU Pils is very nice, a 40 IBU IPA has an off taste and is just bitter with nothing else.

HOw can you not like wheat beer? they arent bitter in anyway.---
