Trashfire The BetterHelp, CreatorHealth, InfluenceLogic Rabbit Hole - Candid 2.0, brought to you by Joel Robbinson

Sorry if I missed it ITT, but any new leads on a possible direct connection to Google/Youtube?
Because if YT is involved, then that would explain why Shane Dawson's video blew up so quickly. They can easily manipulate their own trends in order to shill a company - as Google in general so often does.

boogie was lying in the killstream
That's not a surprise, Boogie is known for manipulating his audience into giving him money by using his own health issues and insecurities.

I probably wouldn't start telling Metokur he HAS TO make a video about it, otherwise he won't just to piss us off
That's not true. He only refuses to do hit-pieces on demand.
I hope Harmful is also doing something about it.

Gotta respect how quickly they managed to spin a potential PR issue into an opportunity to create an even better ad (no doubt he'll vlog his visit to the BetterHelp office).

At the end of the day both his and their credibility will appear strengthened and his endorsements will carry even more weight because now his viewers have seen PhillyD go on critical distance, ask some "tough" questions and then come to the independent conclusion that BetterHelp really is the most trustworthy, transparent, responsive, ... company one could wish for. That's much better than some scripted blurb.

older article from 2017 talking about the whether better help is ethical , more interesting it shows there is a version of better help in spanish
"BetterHelp was acquired by publicly traded Teladoc in 2015 in a $4.5 million deal, and is expected to exceed revenues of $27 million this year, according estimates provided on a recent quarterly conference call with analysts. Two months ago, the company launched Terappeuta.com, a Spanish-language version of the site."

'Terappeuta' means 'therapist' iirc, so they are legitimately calling their Spanish version of the BetterHelp scam simply that, therapy. Unlicensed, expensive, data-mining therapy for stupid or severely depressed Mexicans. How beautiful.

I mean I've heard of "if you're not paying, you aren't a customer, you're a product" but to actually charge people for the privilege of stealing their data is just...wow.
Keep track of everyone saying they tried the service on kF, wait for the Iranian supa hekers to get the mined information leaked, than start connectin dots for the lolz. I'm sure there is going to be something hilarious at the end of this Jew Hunt.

:powerlevel:
HIPPA only requires patient consent to data sharing. But there is this fun blackhole of patient data that exists pre-HIPPA disclosures and post-patient privacy act (which was passed in the...90s? - HIPPA is actually the law that covers the enforcement of a previous law that congress passed but forgot to actually assign penalties for - woops.). And otherwise data for which a signed HIPPA disclosure doesn't exist for. This stuff is almost impossible to move or share, and is generally a huge fucking headache.
But if a Doc has been treating Mrs. Declane for 60 years, her last 10 years or so of patient records can be shared "for billing or the good of the patient with authorized parties (other docs and insurance orgs)", but the 50 years before that are almost impossible to transmit. And any notes or records that make reference to anything in her record pre-HIPPA disclosure signing also cannot be transmitted.

Which is why they use faxes, as an encrypted fax machine will give you a non-forgable receipt verifying transmission - or more specifically, if someone is caught fucking with the fax machine or the telephone line, there are documented and well-laid out criminal punishments for the offending parties. You could get the same level of security (or better) with modern encryption, but the case law hasn't caught up to that yet & no one is jumping to be the carnary in the coal mine when an encrypted fax machine in a locked room only costs a few hundred bucks.

Data WITH a signed HIPPA just has to be transmitted security, to an authorized party, and any intercept has to be reported ASAP. If you include a form on your patient sign in sheet that says "Oh, BTW, we're going to turn skynet loose on your medical records" and you sign, they can datamine your patient records all day long.
(Now, the fun part is they have to treat it like research, which means they have to allow people to withdraw consent at any time.)
Thank you for the information, though the question becomes, are you required to sign such a form to start sessions with BetterHelp? I haven’t tried going that far in the process, nor have I seen anyone show that far in. All I know is that a line in the terms of service wouldn’t hold up in court.

Not Much of Value here, Just more WayBack Digging

The Telebehavioral Health Institute in 2009 was just the existing domain, telehealth.org . Auctioned by GoDaddy.

Unfortunately the next available archive is Sept' 2011, where its the telehealth.org now, pushing the online therapy courses and all that other shit (affiliates registration page right from the get go too). The pricing for the courses is pretty nutty too. The site itself is pretty well archived, so digging isnt an issue if there's something to be found. Looks pretty shadey, even for 2011.

NOW THE BEST PART LOL
On the 25th of September, 2011, telehealth.org suffered a face much worse than death.

(I'd never heard of him, apparently hes Bangladeshis top elitist elitist superhacker. heres a small (like 5 questions lol) interview https://thehackernews.com/2011/01/exclusive-interview-with-tiger-mte.html . Just a funny side note)

Its hacked for a day and then returns to what it looks like. Just updates the look over time but keeps the same rhetoric.

So at this point DeFranco is doing his own scam with the affiliates bullshit, and telehealth.org & betterhelp.com & all the other connected sites are farming & selling data?
Wtf is this lol

OH GREAT TiGER-M@TE, BANGLADESHI HACKER OF THE EAST, HERE MY PRAYERS, SMITHE THESE GOYS, SHOW NO MERCY FOR THEIR SHECKLES
