It appears Andy Warski and Chris Warski shilled this thing as well. I cannot find the video, deleted for sure.
Should they still be on the list?

Currently, YouTubers are shilling this as the 'cheaper alternative' to professional counselling, yet scammed customers have come forth in claiming that's not exactly true.

BetterHelp's weekly rates range from $35-$80USD per week. Yet users of the service have complain that they have been randomly charged for two months without refund nor explanation. Some without ever even pairing up with a therapist.

Wait, really? They still charge that much for their service? After hearing the ads, I was under the impression that BetterHelp's services were either free or the price was much, much lower than $35-$80USD per week. You can find an actual, licensed therapist for less than that. While it's true that most therapists charge more than that per session, there are ways to get access to low-cost treatment if you're willing to dig for it. There are actually a lot of therapists who offer what is known as a sliding scale payment plan, which means that they will work with you to set a price that you can afford. Remember, most mental health professionals got into the field because they are compassionate and want to help other people. If they see someone suffering, they don't want to hang them out to dry.

Unfortunately, for people who are so depressed they can barely get out of bed in the morning, this seems like way too much work. An option like BetterHelp seems much more appealing because they don't even need to leave the house. And yet BetterHelp abuses this. Fuck these people, there's a special place in hell for those who take advantage of vulnerable people who desperately need help.

That shit is worse than Candid since they're using the data of people who have mental issues.

I know everyone has been giving Andy the sped pass for being a sped, but... look. I dunno if Ralph at least keeps up the pressure tonight on the Killstream that will be a lot better. Andy can barely get two stuttering words out without giggling because he thought of a funny cat picture he saw 5 months ago or whatever.
I'm hoping Metokur will do a video on this. If anything, as a relative pallette cleanser from having to wade through the nasty zoopedosadist shit.

To add to this, HIPAA 'certification' is given by people clicking accept on a box that says they read the rules/law. Every 'certification' course is done by a third party and cannot be verified due to the rigorous requirement of clicking on a box. If you see a medical professional tout being certified/trained, leave and never come back. There is no oversight and an actual medical professional would never have to mention it due to it being implied.

If you actually read into the entire law, HIPAA compliance is a joke.

It has been a few years and maybe they saned it up, but I know about getting data security upto HIPAA levels. All of the privisions of the law are null and void if - in the event of a breech - you can convince a federal regulator that they would have been impractical to implement.
Any system with health information on it is supposed to be in a room with an access-logging locking system to prevent physical compromise. Unless its too much time/money to implement that, in which case just having a locked room with keys only given to people who need access. Well ok you can have it unlock with key you give to everyone, as long as its locked and people can't just waltz up to it. Ok fine the computer with all the patient data can sit under the receptionists desk because that's the only one in the office.

Also you signing a provider's HIPAA disclosure protects the provider from any serious breech consequences except for replying an "FWD: FWD: RE: FWD: RE: LOTTERY VICTORY NOTICE FOR YOU" email with your patient records.

Now TBF, its better than what was before (nothing) and while consequences for first-time offenders are light, they build if you don't fix yourself. If you are breeched and don't make serious efforts to stop it from happening again, you will have a very bad time.

But being HIPAA compliant just shows the absolute bare-minimum effort. Advertising you're HIPAA compliant is like a breakfast cereal advertising "100% EBOLA & HUMAN FECES FREE!" .

You have to be a special level of shitbag to have experienced major depression and then engage in ripping off your fellow sufferers. Since you actually know how fucking dark everything is for them.

I feel so sad reading this thread. Thry aren’t even providing some kind of placebo, this is just a straight rip off.

It's not only a scam but the thing that the company needs the most is the data on each patient. It's like the app that HarmfulOpinions talked about (not Candid, another one), the company sold the data to MIT and Microsoft. Who knows what they'll do with that kind of data? Another AI that will spy on your social media account and alert the authorities if you say that you want to kill yourself?
