now if only it didn't say "birb"
I would like a cup of bird please. No sugar though, it's sweet enough as is.
My mother has torticolis. I imagine she doesn't get Botox injections like my mom does to straighten out her neck. Do you give her an anti-inflammatory or anything similar? She is my coturnyx quail with torticolis.
You can do birdy bread. What is missing, though is some kind of vitamin supplement like Hari Prime or one of the formulas from Versele Laga. Can you get anything like that? Might be easier to ship as it's a lot smaller than pellets.Would it be possible to replicate parrot pellets with birdy bread? I've given up on trying to get them shipped here, it's apparently an impossible feat. Looking at the ingredients, though, it's basically the same thing.
I mean by primate standards, I guess you could say they are gimped. That said, my 5 seem to be perfectly capable of doing whatever they want to. I mean, they're very amused by the fact that they can fly, I can't, and there's nothing I can do if they want to fly where I can't reach them.I also wonder if the evolution of their forearms into wings has permanently gimped them? There is no undoing that evolution, and regaining any dexterity in those limbs; most birds have to make do with their beaks or feet. Even many flightless birds end up with those limbs atrophying as it's an overspecialized tool that has little other use.
Holy shit, after looking up Versele Laga, I found pellets in this country for the first time, but, of course they're not for the birds I have, they're for African Greys.vitamin supplement like Hari Prime or one of the formulas from Versele Laga
No worries, I didn't buy that sink, my birds loathe running water for some reason, I thought there might be something like those cat drinking fountains where the bubbling is very mild, but ended up not finding anything safe and give them their baths with the regular old spray.Put it in the fresh food you prepare and not the birdy bread. I would think the heat could affect them. As for the Versele Laga, consider calling the place that sells the African Grey formula and see if they can order any other kinds in. If they are an "official" store or dealer, they should be able to, though you might have to pay for it ahead of time.
As for those sinks, be careful... they are powered by batteries and have a long hose. They are hard to keep clean and I have talked to owners that have had to toss it because of fungal growth. I have also heard that some enterprising bird hoodlums have tried to chew their way to the battery when no one was looking. That would be very bad. I know someone whose husband took a very simple pond pump, attached some aquarium tubing to make the water go higher, and stuck the whole thing in a glass kitchen pan. Their birds loved it. Sometimes simple is just as good and a lot safer.
I just give my birds a bowl of water and they roll around in it.give them their baths with the regular old spray.
