I love their vocals. Sometimes I hear them at night if I’m out walking.
I hear them a lot in my neighborhood, and I've caught them on the Google nest cam bothering my chickens. I found out one roosters is useless, too, because he'll yell about something like a butterfly, or a cardinal flying overhead...
But a baby possum fell into their coop, and he didn't say a got-dang thing! His ladies were doing all the yelling that woke my husband and me up!
Anyway, I like this lady. Th bway her little parrotlet says "baby bird" is just th sweetest.

I took some pictures of either a raven or crow today. I think it was a raven, but I would be happy if someone could tell me wether if I am right or not.

Aw, looks like a Common Merganser! (Which yes, is a breed of duck). Specifically, a female. Very nice!!
I have another photo of a Merganser from yesterday that I think came out well.

I also really like this photo of two cranes in flight that I got this morning. Kinda wish that the crates were more in focus, but I really like the composition of the photo.

I discovered that there is a crop function on my phone's gallery app, so I cropped some pictures I took Sunday and yesterday.

What i think is a Cormorant flying above a lake with reflection below. I wish the Cormorant was more in focus, but i was not expecting him.

The other night in Arizona I saw what had to be Common Poorwills just flapping around catching bugs near my hotel. Wild to see actual birds so active at night.

Man it is great to have internet again. Yellowstone is nice, but a stable internet connection at the in park lodges/hotels would have been greatly appreciated.
I lived out west for years and there was a bald eagle who lived near my place. I loved watching him go fishing. It was a pretty awesome sight to see.
It was fun watching that pair of eagles going after that fish. They took turns diving after it and it took a few tries to finally catch it.

Tax: What I think are some type of ducks sitting on a rock outcropping in some small rapids.

My mom took an audio recording of some hummingbird nagging her to refill the feeders. I had no idea they made a noise that reminded me of a high voltage fence! Was pretty neat to learn hummingbirds are so goofy.

There was a fledgling sparrowhawk yesterday in my semi-rural hood, dodging cars and pissed off crows on a two-lane, 90kph road. I was on a bicycle at that time, so just gave him my baseball cap as something to furiously sink his claws in, and transported him off the road with him hanging upside down from it like a bat.

Planned to pick him up on return trip and put him in my yard for a few days until he actually learns to fly, but he was gone by then. Drove to shop this morning, and he was back on the road, but in 2D. Feels bad, man.💔
