My birds managed to pull a fast one of me. They were acting suspicious, so I suspected that they had eggs in their nest and left them too it. I finally decided to check after a while because my curiosity got the better of me.

Well. I have three birds now. One of the eggs took, by the time I got around to investigating, they had a healthy chick. So highlight of 2020, they had a beautiful little girl.

Correction: It's a boy, his plumage is starting to change.

I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to make my bird less cranky. I've been putting him to bed super early and have been showering him more frequently to help with molting. Other than that idk. Really want him to stop biting me so much and be loving again :(

I know for some birds the molting process can take up to five weeks. :( It could just be a waiting game you both have to play. Some birds get cranky because they're itchy, while others become very needy due to being uncomfortable.

I think turkeys that look like the wild ones in color are relatively smart, even when domesticated. But the white ones raised as meat birds are dumber than a box of axe handles from what I've been told by anyone who raised them. They're the ones who will drown in the rain by looking at the sky.

My work friend who raises chickens said he looked into getting a turkey for meat and heard stories from people about how stupid to the point of suicidal they were and decided, nah. Apparently meat chickens are also dumber than ones raised for eggs.
 
I've heard from people who hunt that they're smart and can be challenging to hunt as a result. They know they're delicious and have to try and protect themselves.

I've also heard good things about buying heritage turkeys to eat instead of grocery store factory farm ones.
 
There's a Japanese lady on tumblr who likes to dress her parrot up in little outfits. The parrot seems to like it too.

Well ok the meat ones are probably a little on the tard side but wild turkeys are tricky birds. Also my avatar pic is a real Chad even when he ain't got no dick
