Come on now, this is completely different. Not by any means the kind of ethnic conflict you were seeing in Yugoslavia over religious autism (granted, islam is playing an important role here, but one can easily argue race is the main actor at play here). There are some positive signs. A lot of centre right alternative media, Spiked, Unherd etc are starting to talk about 2 tier policing. My point was that its best to have a gun and not use it to the point its a paper weight in your living room than needing that shit because the government is shameless on how much they hate you and want to replace you with barbarians and see you only got bad language to throw at them. Why you think cops tend to tread lightly when they arent sure if the suspect is armed and tend to be more lax and, in the case of bad ones, even kind of abusive when they know they arent?

The real test of these protests will be if they can cross demographic lines. Looking back at the solidarity movement in Poland and the Arab spring in Tunisia what made the difference was the involvement of students, unions and civil servants. If it's just fat bald men called Dave protesting there is no chance of ever going farther then it has. It's bizarre to me how much Stermer has screwed this up. every protester arrested has a family and community that cares for them. What happens when dad decides he would rather bash a cop's head in then turn over his son? At some point the original cause of the protests turns into a protest against government reaction to the the protest and it just spirals.

Are there any adults left in Labor? Offering Stermer as a human sacrifice and replacing him with a more conciliatory MP might be an important first step in trying to get people to calm down. Stermer is acting like a weak dictator who only knows how to bluster and threaten, it makes him look weaker, not stronger.

Government officials knocking on my door can be counted on one hand in terms of what's happening. Either A: I called them to do a inspection or some shit for the house OR B: I'm in deep fucking shit and they have a court signed search warrant. The Cops don't want to get hurt, I don't want to think I'm getting robbed and break out the shotgun, so they will have a fucking warrant. It keeps the lunacy of bureaucracy in check.
