It really does. There are a lot of words like that tbh, and no I'm not talking about how you say aluminum. A lot of language development paused and branched off around the 18th century. In this case however, the older definition fits. How can you not call releasing murders and rapists mere months after they offended a evil plan? Completely malicious.

The UK actually had a Bill of Rights before the US even existed, adopted after the Glorious Revolution of 1688. It even included a right to bear arms (although it only applied to Protestant men). It was also never actually repealed - it's just been chipped away at, piece by piece. A lot of British people don't even know it exists.

Years ago, maybe the 00s, I was talking to some BNP types and told them that it wouldn't do much good to bitch about Muslims when their government snatched away their right to self defense, as the right to secure your own life and property and the right to your own country stem from the same root. They all started shrieking about how guns are stupid Amerifat things, that civilized people don't need guns, blah blah muh Columbine, muh gun crime in America, and so on.
