Just finished it. At first i thought it would be yet another guy reading the cwcki for the 20th time but i'm surprised. Can't wait to see whats next in chris chan's life!
This is the doc I'd recommend if someone had a day to waste and really wanted to know about Chris. Concise, good editing, has OC, and you can knock out every episode in half the time it takes to watch the LoTR trilogy from start to finish. Geno's is way too long and detailed for someone who doesn't already care and offers no new content, just a detailed recap. This is quality.

Is that so terrible? Documentarians ought to have some kind of distance from their subjects.
You’ve made me want a serial killer documentary made and narrated by a real serial killer.

You know what, I commented earlier, and ima go edit that because I’d like to say I was wrong. You made a great point. I’m someone who likes the details and the length of Geno’s doc, but Mars made a documentary I could actually convince people to watch. Kudos!

There's no funny TV Chinamen on Family Guy or The Simpsons, his only sources of world knowlege. And the only funny TV azn he might know is the chick from Futurama and I think she's supposed to be Korean so you don't have to worry about that ever happening.
City Wok guy is from South Park right? Chris watches that.

To be honest, I think this is everyone's raw ego fantasy trip to some extent (gender swapped for the girls) so I can't fault him for that power fantasy. The problem is when you take that attitude into real life or present it to the real world as a work of art.

Although, Comic Chris doesn't get any action which seems to be a major oversight in the original 10 canon. Even in his power fantasies he gets friend zoned.

I do find it funny though that Chris takes the fantasy of direct autocrat whose servants bow to him as the Protagonist's role. Usually such an ego-driven desire is made into the villain of the series while the "Plucky Rebels" who sit on councils leading an underground resistance, such as the PVCC, are made to be the heroes but are the villains in Chris' comics.
Chris really could have cast himself as the leader of a band of rebels hiding in the shadows battling Mary Lee Walsh and her army of goons who have taken over CWCville. I'm betting he saw the Sonic show where Sonic and his fellow furries battle Robotnik who has control of the city and engage his robot goons in a guerilla war and some of his favorite media franchises have had the same premise. His beloved Transformers had this one series called Beast Machines where the heroes are a small band battling Megatron who has taken control of the planet and has legions of robot soldiers under his command. Its one of the most basic premises in fiction, the good guys are outnumbered and outmatched by the bad guys so they have to use their wits, determination, and teamwork to beat the bad guys. He's a mindless consoomer of media but he can't even pick up on some of the most basic elements of storytelling.

I think its because of his ego. Chris thinks he's Gods gift to the world and is better than everyone in anyway so his self-insert has to be that. In his comic where he has cast himself as the protagonist he can't just have him be an ordinary person fighting a desperate battle against the forces of evil, he has to be the most awesome, special person Chris thinks he is. He has some understanding that the hero should be at a disadvantage against the bad guys but he can't bring himself to actually be weaker than his enemies. Even when the jerkops are harassing him at McDonalds over loitering in a public place trying to find true love Chris is still wealthy, powerful, and has tons of friends to help him out just because he's Chris and the rules of storytelling don't apply to him. We the audience are expected to cheer Chris the God-Mayor torturing and murdering random people because they were mean to him and we should be happy Chris defeats them for causing a minor inconvenience to his life.
:story:

That larp as soon as Chris realised he doesn't have any friends.
It reminded me of when he and Null were emailing back and forth after he got kicked out of Too Many Games. Null brought up that Chris's behavior could get him preemptively banned from other conventions and face legal charges for sexual harassment if he kept kissing people on the cheek and getting too touchy-feely. The next email Chris sent was him very briefly acknowledging the potential consequences of his behavior before going into a word salad about magic land. Whenever reality starts burrowing itself into Chris's thick skull he finds some excuse to avoid realizing how much of a screw-up he is.

As far as documentaries go, I would consider this one of the most well-balanced ones. It covers 95% of stuff in enough detail for you to understand what's going on. The only criticism I have is that he did not cover anything after the idea guys in a lot of detail, it largely seemed like an afterthought to explain to the audience why he was now in jail. This definitely makes the documentary seem like it was originally intended to be released in early/mid 2020.

Ironically, this this the behavior that Borb instilled in Chris. He just so happened to put it in comic form because he thought he was 'creative'.
