Chris's audience (and, therefore, his trolls' audience) extends well beyond this forum. The trolling is not going to stop if this subforum is closed.
Yeah sure, but what more humor can be squeezed out of this? Are we supposed to continue to laugh and call Chris a fatty after he was abused and terrorized by these psychopaths?

If I'm reading correctly, the amount extorted is $6,000. It may have been obtained illegally, but the cops are just going to go have a talk with the kids' mothers and make them promise not to do it again. Then they'll go back to Chris and tell him to file a small claims case. Chris can represent himself in small claims court, but he would probably mess that up bad. The only way I see for the money being recoverable is if someone is given power of attorney for Chris as a caretaker. As I see it, that's the first priority. If Chris is an adult and refuses help, he is going to become a very tragic figure, because by the time he is willing to accept help, it will probably be too late. This goes all the way back to Bob's insistence that Chris be mainstreamed. It was a huge mistake that set Chris adrift in a world that he isn't capable of dealing with. If he had gotten help back then, he would probably be more open to it now. Bob and Barb let this get too far. Their lack of planning for what would happen to Chris after they were gone is the worst wrong ever done to Chris.

Anybody ever see that one film that parent groups made about the dangers of tabletop RPGs? Forgot the name but it was supposed to be a take on Dungeons and Dragons where one kid gets completely absorbed by the fantasy world and has to be stopped from inadvertantly killing himself.

There was more than one, but I think you're talking about Mazes & Monsters.

Probably Dark Dungeons, but honorable mentions to Rona Jaffe's Mazes & Monsters. Break-out role for Tom Hanks, where he ends up LARPing so hard he stabs a mugger in NYC and tries to jump off the observation deck of the World Trade Center as part of a cleric spell. :story:

D&D is evil kids, don't let the retarded or psychotic play

Not if the state gets involved, which is why no one has called because no one wants the fun to end. Well, it's not fun anymore. In jerking off any content, all you're doing is making the inevitable situation worse.
The state does not generally initiate proceedings to have someone declared mentally invalid on their own. Even if you bring them an issue like this, they'll put a bandaid on and fix the immediate problem, but you need to go substantially out of your way to get anything more.

record himself shitting on the floor and punching himself in the face until tears and snot are running down his chin. At one point, they ask Chris to punch his mother, which he does (though he claims lightly).
Are you planning to release these soon? Not because I would greatly enjoy watching them or anything but just for historical or archival purposes or whatever, you know. That would be awesome!

You don't think 10 years of this crap escalating even further is not substantial? I know you think you're doing a better job than the state, but at this point, I don't believe anyone can do anything much.

No. I don't think you understand the purpose of the state. It's not there to help people. Chris isn't disruptive enough to warrant the effort. Sorry to ruin your fantasies.

If wanting to get Chris genuine help is a fantasy, then I'm living in a dream world. I just don't believe prolonging the inevitable and throwing money at Chris is actually helping.

If she didn't immediately frogmarch him to the crazy house, if she had time to wait for an appointment for that, then she had time to take him to the police. That's the crux of my argument.
I think you need to look at it from the perspective of Rocky. She was contacted about this by the owner of the forum that has been the leader in discussion of every tiny thing Chris does that is discovered and the owner of a wiki that has documented Chris for almost a decade. Both of these guys have hosted discussion about them, and from her own personal experience, she likely has a perception about the fairness of this website, how information is gathered, etc. She also has her own set of experiences with dealing with Chris' bullshit. She has been around for almost a decade as well. She was around when Chris and his mom were arrested, she was around for all the other shit that may or may not have been reported to the authorities. At this point Rocky probably knows better than you do about Chris' history with law enforcement and explored with law enforcement what limitations exist in terms of people being prosecuted or held accountable for what they have done to Chris. That's just an assumption, but at this point, it seems to be a valid assumption because there is no level of law enforcement interested in doing anything.

On the other side of the coin, from your personal experience, how easy is it to trick Chris? You and others were able to easily slide your fist up Chris' ass and turn him into your personal puppet countless times. All this stuff is a large step in a nasty direction, but Chris really is striker-tier easy to manipulate. And I don't wanna hear "it isn't that Chris is easy to manipulate, it's just hard for him to not be naive" or some other jive, Chris is easy to fuck with, pure and simple. So easy to fuck with that Rocky is probably right to believe that Chris needs to live in a place where he will receive adult supervision. The internet apparatus planned out to manage him, his finances and other aspects of his life does not sound tenable and is dependent on people with no bond to him beyond observing him or playing with him over the internet keeping up on him. Gail's trolls were trying to manipulate her into taking her medicine for a while, but that type of shit depends on so many things working in your favor. What happens when a "troll" from the C-Ville area becomes "friends" with Chris and manipulates him into giving them anything he has of value, paying off their own debt, signing deals for them, etc? That won't happen? Striker's family has placed him in a home where he is under constant supervision.

A large part of me says Rocky was right here.

I used to work for the state years ago handling disability claims and chasing fraud. The one thing I remember is that if you fuck with the money in any way that goes outside the parameters for what it’s used for (which is supposed to be basic necessities, rent, food, and some amenities) they will not hesitate to track you down and get authorities involved if needed. If no one else will help, I think the section “misuse of funds” could help. https://oig.ssa.gov/what-abuse-fraud-and-waste

We had many cases where the person receiving funds was unaware they had these funds because their parents were hoarding the money and claiming their child couldn’t take care of their own money. We also had cases where they were getting the money but giving it to their parents or someone they trusted because they were convinced by these people that it was the best option (the “trustee” would then be caught spending the money frivolously). The problem is that I don’t know who his SSA checks are listed under, or if Chris makes enough from eBay each month to constitute as substantial gainful activity. But also if Barb is taking most of his check for her own gain, they may disregard the eBay thing entirely. It’s not a consistent job and it’s not continuous income (and his house is hoarder hell so really it’s like a garage sale) so it may not be treated as “gainful employment.”

Fact of the matter is: 1)The faggots responsible for this used tax payer dollars in blackmailing a severely mentally impaired man. There’s a fraud case with that alone, I’m sure. 2)Chris needs a payee that isn’t him or Borb to properly allocate his money.

I don't take care of Chris. I don't deal with him like that. The most interaction I have is meeting up with him at a convention or other things like that.

I'm a confidant for prospective trolls. That's it.

This is not about what I think is best for Chris, but how I believe the system will react.

After deinstitutionalization, having someone declared mentally incompetent became a huge expense. The state doesn't just ask "is this person an invalid?" but "first: can we afford another ward of the state? second: see first".
There's a lot here to pick apart. A lot of misunderstandings about the situation, because information is not always made public. I know that's annoying to hear, but basically: I'm very familiar with the situation and the people (including Rocky) involved. I'm still disappointed in Rocky's reaction. I don't think it was reasonable from her perspective, considering the people involved and what transpired.

This is not a waste issue. Chris' tugboat is an entitlement because Bob paid into the state, not welfare. Welfare (like SSI) is needs based, for poor people, and if you can afford to spend it on stupid bullshit, then you're probably not poor. But SSDI payouts are something you're owed, it's your money, so you can spend it how you please.

But yeah, no clue about the other stuff.

The fact that her spending habits, as mentioned in the OP, means that she takes $900 out of Chris to pay the reverse mortgage is more or less one of the things to blame. All that said, getting Chris to saying stupid shit doesn't really make you a good troll so much as an unfunny sped and making Chris buy game cards and other shit to mail them to another state to avoid a sort of blackmail is just scummy as fuck.

A reverse mortgage doesn't come due until the death of the last person on the loan (probably Barb). That's the point of it. So either they don't have that or Barb is lying to extort more hoard money from Chris. Part of why he's vulnerable to being ripped off like this is that cunt has made him used to most of his money being stolen based on bullshit.

Sure he should be paying something to live there but $900 for one room in hickville in a house filled with rotting garbage and animal feces is not fair market value for $900.
