Karl Jobst has ended speedrunning careers, popped the retro gaming bubble, and now ended the Completionist.

Apparently that was around the time where Jirad was doing his FNAF completionist videos to which he actually fucking admitted the FNAF games fucked him up so badly he had to see a therapist.

Aren't the Freddy games just jump scares? All I've seen of it is you're in a control room, and you monitor the halls and close the doors when the murderous puppets get close... and if you don't then they pop up on your screen and AAGHGHGHGHGHAHGH at you. No blood, no gore, not even SH3 esque screen of one of the robots dragging your lifeless body into the darkness.

I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that's he's being fucking stupid, but 10 years of hording the charity money and just blatantly lying about where it was going just has me believing there's some fishy about him.
Whatever actually happened behind the scenes dosen't really matter. His reputations will be tainted forever and no one will be willing to work with him in the future

Hearing that clip REALLY makes me not trust Jirard. I mean he as much as says that all he cares about is getting "raked over the coals." He does not come off like someone with genuine remorse but just someone who is looking to minimize damage.

Let's see, we have Jirard, someone who's proven to be a totally retarded consoomer with how much he wasted on buying shit nobody would actually buy for the Wii U and 3DS because it was being shut down over what amounts to nobody using their Eshops in 2023 to be accused of charity fraud by two faggots, one being Karl Jobst, a speedrunner who is always late to the punch when it comes to the news from the hobby he partakes in, and we have Mutahar, the pajeet version of MoistCritkal. I just want to know the series of events that led to this even reaching where we are at now because this has to be one of the worst instances of the Internet failing to learn from people doing exactly what allegedly happened in the past.

A thing that comes to my mind is if this means Jobst is gonna turn his channel into being about controversies.

He got his foot in the door not too long ago by talking about how some old speedrun record was fake--which still fit with what his channel was about... but then earlier this year he suddenly decided to talk about WATA Games and Heritage Auctions and their price-fixing scams, which was instrumental in blowing the lid off THAT scandal.

What gets me about this Jirard thing is that Jobst and SomeOrdinaryGamers apparently were working on their videos in tandem (to the point Jobst was even able to say "oh hey this other guy is gonna do a video on this") which itself is kinda whack IMO.

Now in the 90's reviews game releases and tracks current prices. When a game goes from $37 to $460 for a used, stripped copy, something fucky is going on.
Speculation makes old games more expensive. The days of $10-$15 SNES carts is long gone. Both SNES and Playstation games are red hot, and I fucking hate that because I buy the games to play, not to "collect".

I could emulate, I could everdrive, but I like having the games.

I like to own the real thing too, and for all my shit-talking Jobst I am glad he blew the lid off that scam.

Emulation just isn't as good, but sometimes its all you've got.

Especially if you like shmups. Dammit I don't want to pay $300 for a game that might only take thirty minutes to beat.

Pretty much. The first one is fun in the same way an Atari 2600 or old arcade game can be fun, but people acting like they're genuinely scary (they do have a nice atmosphere at least) are either pussies or playing it up.

I like how his plan was "well I hope no one looks up my public tax forms and that the irs never digs into where my money goes" and it actually worked for 9 years. There's literally no way you can come out of this in a good way. Karl actually did the best thing to prove this is scummy by directly confronting Jirad where he comes up with the weird story about ONLY knowing about the undonated money yet continually lying the entire time even after the confrontation. There is no way you can think he's just a big dumbdumb that made an oopsie, he 100% knew what was going on the entire time and thought he could get away with it forever.

I wonder this too. Karl's own video shows also that he had actually reached out to Jirard before making his video as well, and like I said clearly they planned to launch their videos simultaneously.

It just seems odd.
