Obviously we don't know 100%, but IMO, I'm leaning towards it not being Phil. Not because I don't think Phil isn't petty enough to request it gets pulled down, but I think it happened too quickly. Phil has DMCA'd stuff in the past, but IIRC, he hasn't done it in awhile, and would instead try to "subtly" get his fans to do it for him.

Phil has also shown himself to be pretty inept at dealing with any sort of customer service. Even with his day off to try and get it taken down, I feel like Phil would get caught in a loop of emailing paragraph after paragraph of his 10+ year long legacy to a bot customer service account before he actually spoke with someone relevant. In comparison, Superwhatever is pretty consistently doing stuff like this and is much quicker on the draw due to somehow having even less going on in life than Phil of all people.

This was to be expected. If the guy made it a parody and voiced it himself with cartoonified versions of DSP, he would've had a proper legal defense of parody/fair use. But he straight up is using clips from phil and using his likeness. The whole "but it's a parody" argument is wholeheartedly retarded, because think about it like this: Steam isn't Newgrounds, retard. If I made a game that's me shitting on nintendo by using mario as the protagonist and pull a PETA shit where I just make mario shart on tanukis and have the tanukis say "NINTENDO" on it, and slapped a 4.99$ price tag, it's no longer a parody. I am using mario to make a "parody game" and they have the right to take it down, as unethical and shitty as it might be.

If this game was a free game, Phil would not have a case here and Valve would be protecting the lad who put up the game. But as it stands, if Phil wants to claim it even if he gains nothing, he has all the right to. Throw trashcans and tophats all you want, that's just how shit works and no matter how hard you seethe it won't change that fact.
