Magic dying out is just something in the background, like the Tower Theory. The actual reason is because Todd's an asshole who doesn't understand that people don't always want to a Nord barbarian two-hander.

That's more speculation than anything, magicka feels weaker in the games so people wonder if there's a lore reason for that. Really it's just how the games are, lore accurate Dragonborn in game would be broken beyond broken. Lore accurate anything would be fucking nuts. I'd say it's less magicka being finite and more the amount of magicka you can channel being finite. Magicka comes from Aetherius, with most of it coming from the Sun, the biggest hole that Magnus personally ripped open when he left Mundus. Given that Aetherius is eternal (probably), I don't see magicka weakening, just Bethesda's ability to make games, which was already weak to begin with. I mean even when the sun is blocked out from the sky in Dawnguard, mages don't get weaker. In fact if you're a vampire mage you get stronger (more specifically you get your normal strength back due to the lack of sun). Or a stealth character due to the lack of light.
I'm mostly asking because it's a neat idea and I'm trying to remember where I heard it. Tolkien maybe?

Wanna play some oblivion like the good ol days

Dust off my old 360

Delete all the things and start the game

Lower difficulty to easiest and one shot him

Take my money back indefinitely because bethesda

I will never run out of money

Feel like a kid again

Castles still isn't out in the US?

Not for a few weeks.

And on a related topic, how the hell do mobile device requirements work? I just looked up Blades and Castles and I'm being told my phone doesn't fit the requirements, but even my retard ass knows it's better than the listed minimum device for each.

Hell, I need to come up with more builds anyways; stealth archer can get dull, and I still need to create builds for the different races
If you use Ordinator, Classic Classes and Birthsigns, Aetherius - A Race Overhaul, and your choice(s) of magic mod, a Dunmner Sorcerer is a ton of fun. Few things in Skyrim have fire resistance, and many have fire weakness, so you can just burn everything to the ground with fire magic, and the heavy armor and restoration perks will help you tank shit, especially the Mage Ward perk in Restoration which will automatically buff you with a ward whenever you cast a spell.

"Jew Passives"... that's a new one.
Madura... Whats wrong have not imbibed enough imperial propaganda to want to marry Hides-In-Swamp

I'm so sorry for Sony's "muh custom assets" faggotry.

Me too. All it does is basically severely limit what content a fan could enjoy - not just for Skyrim, but for plenty of games. Pretty good chance that, when the next console generation comes out, I'm either swapping to XBox or PC; tired of Sony's shit. Hell, only reason why I don't just sell my PS5 - I still have my old PS4, and there aren't really any PS5 exclusives that interest me - is because I downloaded BG3 a while back, and I don't think I can transfer the game elsewhere. Unless I'm mistaken...?

Shouldn't even be a competition, PC. A good one, well unless you don't have much time on your hands and just want to play and not deal with any technical issues that might come, modding or otherwise. Even then, with modding Wabbajack exists to make your life easier.

By transfer the game you mean transfer your save? Make a Larian account if you don't already have one, link your Sony account to your Larian account, there will be an option for Cross Save so enable it on your phone or whatever you're using to post here on Larian's website, you should be able to play your PS5 saves on a future PC after logging in to your Larian account on said PC and linking your Steam or GOG account. I hear you have to make a new save so that it syncs and downloads your PS5 save and continue from there. I don't have a PS5 nor do I play BG3 so this was just from a quick Google search. If by transfering the game you mean the actual ownership of the game to PC? Uhhh, nope, not that I know of. Better wave that black flag if you don't want to buy it again.

I would just pirate BG3 on PC or honestly buy it on Steam since mod support is coming out soon and there will prob be a workshop. You're just going to have this Skyrim situation again if you keep playing BG3 on PS5.

Yeah, you're probably right; unfortunately, while I do have a gaming PC, it's... not very good. Whenever I try to play even basic games on it, it sounds like it's about to explode with how loud the fan gets, and it doesn't help that games tend to lag pretty badly; I used to have a fan pad that kept things cool enough, but it stopped working a while back. Can't grab anything to help it, either, since the several stores in my area that used to carry stuff related to gaming PCs either stopped carrying them for whatever reason or closed down. The closest place to try and grab anything is over an hour drive away, and... well, let's just say I have a very busy work schedule; don't have much time as of late to go out and grab new hardware.

Still, I'm definitely going to take your advice and start swapping to PC; as much as I do love my PS5, Sony's stupidity with the whole "no mods" shit is ridiculous. There's only so many times you can run through Skyrim's intro before you just get tired of it; escaping Helgen or going through Bleak Falls Barrow was neat the first time, but doing it EVERY TIME you want to start a new character is absurd.

Man, i'm still hitting my head on a wall (metaphorically speaking ofc) about creating a character in Arena.
I know Warrior is the best melee class but not having spell points is a off-putting.
I found Bard is the best hybrid class in the game but not using Plate is off-putting too.
Any thoughts?

In other words, is better having magical armor or a unlimited duration shield spell?

God damn are you me from years ago? Same exact situation. Shitty laptop, shitty fan even when clean (overheating like a bitch), poor performance on even basic games, cooling fan pad broke, only difference is that some important file got corrupted from existing I guess and I had to use Safe Mode just to use it or else it'll just crash constantly (I reinstalled windows but no dice).

Were the stores that were closed down replaced or soon to be replaced with Condos? Always fucking Condos, but yeah most of the tech stores near me couldn't compete with Amazon or just the ever-shifting market so they just sold unconventional stuff that the average person didn't give a fuck about but specialists and hobbyists would pay a lot for. Best you can do is Amazon, Ebay, or Newegg. And maybe some sites associated to specific people or groups like JustJosh and PcPartPicker. Say how green are you when it comes to PC related stuff?

I haven't gone there in fucking years, exploring a relatively radically different modded Skyrim and doing big modded quests like Vicn's quests is just so much better. Seriously not even Xbox can compare since they can't do SKSE related content which is what most of the good shit requires.

@Tri-TachyonRepresentative

Yeah, I'm still fairly green; I did a little bit of PC work back when I got this laptop like 5 years ago or so, but nothing much. I have played a few decent games on this thing, mostly Phasmophobia and Starbound, and they ran decently well; hell, even Skyrim on Steam ran decently. Unfortunately, the corner I have to keep this damn thing in gets pretty dusty at points, and the age of this thing doesn't help. To be honest, I do think it could run a few games if I had a decent cooling pad at least - the fan does work even if it gets a bit loud at points - but without a pad, it'd probably get about 20-30 minutes max before it overheats. A cooling pad would make it last a LOT longer; at least a couple hours a day, which would be enough for me, frankly.

But yeah, both stores just no longer sell decent computer equipment; Best Buy closed down for some asinine reason, despite being incredibly active, while Wall-Mart just doesn't stock anything I need at this point. Bit annoying, frankly...

Building a PC in the year of our Lord, 2024 is so fucking easy. I just built one for the first time in 20 years and had it up and installing Windows in less than an hour. You can build a PC that will play heavily modded Skyrim with a FPS of ~45 average for $750 easily. I'm using an overclocked Ryzen 5 5600 and a RX 6600 and I only have problems with FPS (30 FPS) in Falkreath because I'm using too many 4k texture mods. If you go with a better GPU, you'll be fine. AMD GPUs are fine for Skyrim except for a weird slowdown in the sculpting menu in Racemenu. ReShade is run by faggots but it runs better than ENB unless you have more than 16 gigs of VRAM. ReShade and Community Shaders are great if you have 8 to 12 gigs of VRAM.

If you do start modding with a PC I'd suggest using a Wabbajack modlist first. Building your own modlist from scratch is a time consuming endeavor if you aren't familiar with modding on a PC.

Is there a place that hosts a torrent for the new creation club shit? I'm not giving Todd $30 for the upgraded upgrade so he can add trannies into new starfield dlc's.

Damn, good luck man! There’s always online stores to get hardware, all my local shops stopped selling almost two decades ago.
I’m running a 2016 build with a 1070 Ti and i5 6600K and BG3 sometimes struggles, seems to be even more so since they’ve updated it. I’m sure there are some performance mods out there tho
