The Elder Scrolls

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Here's a good forum for paid mods including Patreon shit. You'll need to use base64 to decode the links. There's also this Russian site. There's a lot of pay-walled mods but they're in Russian.
Thanks, I've been out of the piracy game for too long. Really goes to show how shit everything has become when I have to ask how to torrent or pirate shit again.

Edit: On the topic of mods, is there any go-to modding guide nowadays? Preferably any that don't take like 12 hours to set up?

Id argue that Skyrim modding is so essentially easy that you don’t need a guide. It’s not a fundamentally broken game like New Vegas or Fallout 3 where you need a dozen .ini patches and anti-crashes to get it work right. Just follow the requirements list on any mods you want, install any compatches and it’ll work mostly fine. SKSE64 and Unofficial Skyrim Patch is a must for practically every mod. Don’t get Better First Person or SimplyKnock; both are poorly made and cause crashes. Go down the list by most downloaded all time on Nexus, you’ll find what you need within 15 pages.

Unless you want to start messing with bodies and graphics. That’s a shitshow I do not recommend.

EDIT; forgot to mention, Alternate Start is a gold standard, and RaceMenu and SkyUI as well. RaceMenu is finicky as fuck and may require a bit of tweaking to work properly.

Alternate Start is a gold standard
Five years ago, yeah. Alternate Perspective is far better because it leaves Helgen as a fully functional town until you start the main quest by talking to the inn keeper. You can even collect juniper berries for Vilaud to make his mead with juniper berries mixed in.

And modding Skyrim is simple, unless you are simple. Then I can't help you.

Again thanks, I've been playing FNV to the point where I guess it's been ingrained in me that I need to follow a mod guide for all bethesda games.

Oh shit Drowned Mods made a forum? Hell yeah.
Building a PC in the year of our Lord, 2024 is so fucking easy. I just built one for the first time in 20 years and had it up and installing Windows in less than an hour. You can build a PC that will play heavily modded Skyrim with a FPS of ~45 average for $750 easily.
Yep, I still find consolefags (or just misinformed people) spreading misinformation about how difficult it is to build and operate a PC, how it'll set you back thousands of dollars, and various other things. Granted, they're consolefags (please note that not all consolefags are braindead normies, perfect example is @Scream Aim Fire ;) ) so they're pretty retarded when it comes to building things and just throw their money at whatever is the best without much thinking. Never be like this Scream, please.

Ehh, I'd argue it depends. The more mods the harder it gets to maintain it and you'll start having to learn some shit you never thought you'd have to learn. As for Backward's question, like I said it depends, what are you planning on doing? Gamerpoets I find to have the best stuff for absolute beginners, not quite a single guide but a collection of videos for you to pick and choose where you want to start and what you need specifically. Oh and if you see any "guides" by Sinitar, avoid like the plague. He is a lolcow.

This thread tomorrow:

It's quite impressive how many people have these same issues because of how stupid they are. "I downloaded a bunch of mods and now shit is different and my game is unstable, how could this happen!" or "I downloaded this mod list without checking the mods because there's so many, and now I'm having sex with someone!" Fuck this was funny, I needed this. Thanks.

Man, i'm still hitting my head on a wall (metaphorically speaking ofc) about creating a character in Arena.
I know Warrior is the best melee class but not having spell points is a off-putting.
I found Bard is the best hybrid class in the game but not using Plate is off-putting too.
Any thoughts?

In other words, is better having magical armor or a unlimited duration shield spell?
spellsword is my class of choice in these games, might be worth it be a half caster

Neat mod, but I find that it lowers immersion for me. Even with city overhauls (that I don't use often because lag and compatibility hell) and mods that add tons of filler NPCs, I rather see where the sounds are coming from then just hear them in the background but know there's nothing there making those sounds. Skyrim's cities are normally tiny and low populated so it just feels very weird. Something I will use however is Praedy's Apocrypha, so few mods touch this alien realm. I also hope to God Dismembering Framework works well since this shit sounds so good on paper.

I'm using it with 1857 plugins and it hasn't caused a crash yet. I also figured out that using XP32 Maximum Skeleton Lite and Immersive Equipment Displays is far more stable than using plain Maximum Skeleton. I went from having random crashes every couple of hours of play time to a crash every ~20 hours of game time.

By the Nine, that's 20 hours cumulative. Can anyone play Skyrim for almost 24 hours straight without wanting to kill every NPC? I can usually last about four hours before I want to murder everyone.

I played for like 18 hours at a time for a while but I was also extremely depressed and just happy to be occupying a world that isn't this one.
