Since Morrowind fans hate everything that came after it, are there any die-hard Daggerfall fans who think Morrowind ruined the Elder Scrolls? Or Arena fans who think the same of Daggerfall? I am asking out of curiosity.
Arena fans basically don't exist and the only hardcore Daggerfall fans left seem to be mellow gen-xers.

Todd's revenge for making fun of Emil's writing. He's suicide bombing the franchise and he's taking us and Microsoft's money with him.

Everything this guy said is absolutely true, supremely based.

I don't think anyone, even die hard fans of Arena, will claim that game was better than Daggerfall, Arena was very rough and barely resembles a modern TES title. It was a tech demo that walked so that Daggerfall could run.
I'm not gonna lie, I think Arena is heavily underrated. It has this reputation for being unplayable garbage that doesn't even work and will make you want to kill yourself and it's barely even an Elder Scrolls game. It's pretty unfair to say the least, none of that shit is true and is over exagerated to a huge degree. I played Arena and had a great time with it. I haven't finished it yet but I've put some hours into the game and it's fun. It's not as good as Daggerfall, sure, but that's kind of a tall order. If people would just forget all the shit people talk about Arena and just give it an honest try I think most people who can stomach playing a game older than 5 years would have a blast with it. I just assume people that hate Arena and shit on it to that extent most likely never even played the game themselves and are spouting shit that they literally don't know about or are just mad that Arena doesn't have Unreal Engine 500tb sized graphics ,or mad that Todd Howard wasn't involved yet to ruin everything.

Arena is a great game, when people shit on it I take their opinions on anything with the smallest grain of salt.

Still waiting for any TES VI news. Hope it comes out before 2030.
I hope it's full of trannies and niggers and player counts nosedive like Starfield. Let Bethesda die and a new studio create a decent fantasy RPG that's easily modable. Skyblivion did a thing at modcon today. I didn't watch it so I have no idea what they said.
Speaking of modcon, did Beyond Skyrim post another teaser video for shit that'll never be released?

It's a walkthrough of the tutorial and for the first half and some fucking around around Weye and Viverin in the second. There's not really anything new or surprising, but I think it's worth noting that they didn't mention the 2025 release like in previous videos.

If this guy is still alive I'd love to know his opinion of Skyrim.
If he survived oblivion, I'm pretty sure he probably killed himself over Skyrim.
I can't even imagine him thinking about Starfield.

Arena is rough even if it got the unity treatment that daggerfall got. The game is really just bare bones.

Yes, Razörfist.
I don't know what that guy believes anymore if he ever believed anything. He went into that born again Christian LARP and started talking about sexy in video games being bad. So the tits in Daggerfall may be haram to him now.

Its fun for an hour.
But when you get beyond a few dungeons you quickly realize that there really isn't much outside it.
Why you'd want to walk from one town to another in Arena is beyond me, but if you try you're greeted by a randomizing world that just continues without any form of real progress.
I like it, it was my first experience with a game series like that. But, it walked so Daggerfall could run. I still go back to it every few years for a little bit. I have very fond memories of playing it with a cousin and sharing stories of our character's adventure when they weren't around with them.

There has been a recent controversy where one of the long time devs left the project claiming that they're rushing it out and it secretly looks like shit and they need to delay it.

Skyblivion devs came out and were basically like "We aren't going to release it until we think it's good. We are still pushing for 2025 but if we can't do that we won't."

Edit: Watching the video, it looks like...Oblivion in Skyrim. I laughed cause I thought Baurus looked white, and thought it was odd they just skipped over the class screen so abruptly but noticed it was missing some classes, specifically Spellsword and Knight.

IDK, I feel like if they changed as much as they've said about the dungeons I'll still play and enjoy it, but since Oblivion Remastered released it's probably making me notice that it's missing a certain je ne sais quoi about it now.

I don't want it to be vaporware, but I had a feeling something like this was going to happen. They should just release what they have and update it as time goes on.

From the little bit of back and forth I saw on the reddit thread, it sounds to me like there are some sour grapes with this dude and another dev who wanted some *new* features in the game and Rebel and the other devs were like "This isn't important, it isn't critical to feeling like Oblivion, we're not doing it because we need to get this thing out."

Which is what the game industry needs more of IMO. I think they just came out and basically said "We can delay it if we need to, but right now we are still committed to 2025" to calm down some people that were freaking out.

As a Daggerfall fan, I think Morrowind is a good enough game that anyone saying it "ruined Elder Scrolls" is silly. Would have been better to ask if it steered it from the simulation route, which even then I would say probably no because it was already set in stone that Morrowind would be different due to various reason. Even as a consultant the game didn't go down the route Daggerfall did. Imo I'd say it's less what game ruined what series both rather who ruined it, what person or entity.
Regarding Arena, it was pretty dry already imo and I'd imagine most of these fans either moved to Daggerfall or another game similar to Arena. It's interesting to experience, certainly, but Daggerfall was just better in every way that there was no real point in sticking around Arena. So you answer your two questions from my perspective, no on both counts.

Emil is too retarded to think of any decent quests or story beats, so here's a decent one I thought of.

Hammerfell needs an opium den skooma den quest line. It would fit so well, and it did happen historically as seen in the Opium Wars.

The Dominion are one of if not the premier naval powers of Tamriel, and they control Elsweyr which produces moon sugar and in turn, skooma. This gives them the means to smuggle massive amounts of skooma into Hammerfell.

Why would they do this? Hammerfell is their sworn enemy. They seceded from the Empire to continue the fight. Getting a large portion of the population hooked on hard drugs would give you a large amount of leverage on them as well as making them far less productive citizens. Societal decay would set in extremely quickly, paving the way for future conquest.

The second reason is that they could twist it to alienate Hammerfell even further. Perhaps the Dominion would embark on a "humanitarian" mission to reduce the skooma trade by searching and seizing all illegal merchandise on ships leaving Hammerfell. It would be bullshit of course, but would the Empire risk reigniting the war over a small province they don't even control just to keep trade flowing? I doubt it.

This story thread could be turned into a quest a number of ways. Maybe you're talking to a guard who refers you to the commander who is holding an investigation on the matter. You follow up on some clues, spot a deal going down, and tail the dealer to the supplier. You go to confront them but before you can you get hit with a mafia style "You'll forget what you say if you know what's good for you". More investigation work and you find out the supplier you uncovered earlier is due to get a shipment at a hidden cove. You follow them over... and spy an Altmer ship crewed by Altmer unloading skooma by the barrel. Return to the commander with the news only to find out he's been assassinated or whatever.

Opium wars mixed with CIA inner city crack dealings with a splash of cold war shenanigans.

Considering that the nonlinear quests in Skyrim like blood on the ice(especially) and the forsworn conspiracy are a buggy mess and break constantly, I don't have the confidence that they can pull something like that off.
