Does anyone here use mod packs? It definitely leans more old school here but I've played Lorerim for Skyrim SE and in all honesty it's better than TES6 will be.

Its requiem based so its a bit of an acquired taste but the depth of gameplay is as good as we can get without attributes and an uncucked magic system.

I used to make my own mod lists so seeing how much shit is added and how seamless it all is just blows my mind.

Virgins use Nexus Collections and Vortex. Midwits use Wabbajack lists and Mod Organizer. Chads make their own modlists on Mod Organizer using Nexus mods. Sigmas learn Russian and Korean so they can use underground Skyrim mod piracy sites to make modlists that not only hit the ESP/ESM limit but also the ESL/ESP-fe limit on Mod Organizer.

Something tells me Oblivion remastered playing like an old game was under deliberate orders from bethesda, so their new stuff can't get shown up. Doesn't matter since skyblivion is going to humiliate them.
It's not like modern day Bethesda could make a game with halfway decent gameplay regardless. More than anything else, I think it was a cost saving measure, which would go hand in hand with the supposition that neither Microsoft or Bethesda had confidence the remaster would sell particularly well. 90% of the changes were graphical and all of that was outsourced to slants and implemented using the most idiot friendly jeetified tools under the sun.
It also would have been a hard sell to older TES fans who I suspect were the only ones they figured would show any interest. In an entirely predictable fashion, the oldfags rejected it and no one, not even the zoomzooms who never played Oblivion particularly liked the scant gameplay changes that did make it in.

that's a funny way to say you can't bash for shit.
because russians, gooks and chinks mishmash many nexus modpacks into one and translate it, they don't even do actual modding like extracting assets from other games and porting to the game or doing modeling themselves, the only ports you'll see hosted there are the ones they could scrounge up from GUNetwork and some ripper's patreon which the guy is usually from NA or EU, it's like they have no drive to do anything even though they are immune to cuckright permission gayness that the modders they so love getting shit from are under.

There has been a recent controversy where one of the long time devs left the project claiming that they're rushing it out and it secretly looks like shit and they need to delay it.

Skyblivion devs came out and were basically like "We aren't going to release it until we think it's good. We are still pushing for 2025 but if we can't do that we won't."

Edit: Watching the video, it looks like...Oblivion in Skyrim. I laughed cause I thought Baurus looked white, and thought it was odd they just skipped over the class screen so abruptly but noticed it was missing some classes, specifically Spellsword and Knight.

IDK, I feel like if they changed as much as they've said about the dungeons I'll still play and enjoy it, but since Oblivion Remastered released it's probably making me notice that it's missing a certain je ne sais quoi about it now.

Some quick info on this: You’ve basically summed it up correctly. The whole “faking the polish” claim for videos is nonsense in my opinion. Obviously, they only showcase areas that are (nearly) finished and put in some extra QA before filming, but it’s not like they’re showing fake features or using ENBs to make things look better than they are.

The tweeter is part of a group of Skyblivion devs (thankfully a minority, I think) who aren’t happy that development has become more professional and structured with a release date on the horizon. Unlike in past years, features that take too long or aren’t essential for launch are now cut, and the workflow isn’t as “fun” anymore since devs can’t just do whatever they want or endlessly polish their own work. They’d rather have no release date at all and only announce one once the mod feels “finished.” But of course, that day would never come (see Beyond Skyrim).

Skyblivion could still be delayed by a few months, since some key elements are unfinished—mainly the Imperial City, quests, and UI. They might just barely complete those by the end of 2025, but that wouldn’t leave enough time to properly playtest quests or iron out gamebreaking bugs. Most of the lead devs, including the project lead, are aware of this and expect a short delay—probably into Q2 2026—to ensure the game is feature-complete and playable. Thankfully, that majority is calling the shots.

As for what to expect from Skyblivion: obviously, it won’t be revolutionary. It’ll play like Skyrim with some neat twists and a few features brought over from Oblivion. The level design is much improved over vanilla Oblivion, with more variety, unique locations, and creative details. Visually, the outdoor world can’t compete with the Remaster—the Creation Engine is simply dated—but lighting and weather have been improved a lot. With ENB or Community Shaders it can look genuinely stunning. Where it truly outshines both Oblivion and the Remaster (and even Skyrim, I’d argue) is in the dungeons. Oblivion’s were notoriously bland, but here they’ve been completely redone, with some really impressive designs—especially the ayleid ruins.

So yeah, I expect it’ll come out with a bit of a delay, be largely free of gamebreaking bugs, and should be a fun experience that improves on the original Oblivion in plenty of ways.

Played it a bit ago, it's honestly my preferred "Vanilla++" modpack. Makes it feel like a significantly better Skyrim rather than a completely different game. I do wish Wabbajack users stopped focusing on graphics so much, makes Wabbajack lists unnecessarily inaccessible (yes you can disable graphics mods and make sure everything runs fine but it makes the download much longer). which is the point of Wabbajack. You can easily cut down download and install sizes/time and borderline half system requirements while stacking up on even more actual content, plus it makes my internet not want to commit seppuku (it was great until they "upgraded" some shit, which they probably got some pajeets to do because the connection has been worse and cutting off constantly). Then again I'm not a graphicsfag nor do I care about mods sticking out like a sore thumb looks-wise if the mod is good.

One of my biggest gripes was the dungeons, I haven't paid much attention to Skyblivion but if they make overhauled dungeons I'm all for it.

Starting the video off (well 1:30) with "Pelinal didn't go far enough" and I already know this is going to be fun. Followed this guy for a bit, his videos are pretty entertaining. Videos like these really make me wish there was consequences in this game for most non-questline actions...such as mass genocide. But nope, just kill an entire town, go to jail for a bit, and you're perfectly fine. Hell, more ways to interact with your bounty would be nice too. You have so many ways to escape your bounty and factors to not getting caught in the first place that I wish crime was way more serious.
Daggerfall made of a God damn trial system (albeit barebones) that can be influenced by the Streetwise (for lying) or Etiquette (for debating) skills and even allowed you to go "fuck it, I'm guilty" for a lesser sentence. Being in certain guilds can also affect this, and by certain I mean just the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. There were a bunch of crimes to commit too (wished they finished programming the "high treason" crime so you can actually get executed), combine this with timed quests and you can really fuck yourself over.

Morrowind allowed disposition to affect your bounty if caught, allowed guards to lower or even outright clear your bounty. That being said, too high a bounty is a death sentence, you can remove it through the thieves guild or as a reward from a quest. The Trial system was removed sadly.. Swinging (not necessarily hitting, lol Morrowind) at someone counts as assault (that's in DF too I think?), calming someone then doing it again can be a separate sentence lol, and if your sneak is high enough you can just not get caught sometimes. You can even get someone to attack you and then it'll be considered self-defense if they saw them attack you first. This applies to guards too, fucking Morrowind lol. Fencing wasn't really a thing as you can sell any stolen item to anyone so long was not originally theirs (which was pretty cool, no one would know if someone from the next city over would have had that specific item stolen, at least not immediately, sadly this crime never really caught up to you).

Oblivion funnily enough added on to the crimes due to new mechanics, you can now steal horses and escape jails, wear the mask of nocturnal (which is honestly a super low bounty, 500 gold for one of the most legendary thieves in history?), and slap sheep specifically. You're also given better indicators on whether something is a crime or not which I do appreciate. The responsibility system was also introduced, allow certain people to ignore your crime or are especially worth look out for depending their responsibility level. Guards will always allow arrests which gets into the problem of punishments meaning jack shit, hell if some guards like you they'll just clear your bounty. While that last bit is in Morrowind, they'll still try and kill you no matter what (iirc) with a high enough bounty. Guards are also telepathic so if you kill a guard they'll know it was you no matter what. Fencing became more of an involved mechanic, you can't just sell stolen goods to anyone anymore and instead must seek specific fences in less than legal places.
Pickpocketing is overhauled but for bounty related circumstances, people will report you even if they weren't the victim, but thankfully stolen items don't stack (meaning if you steal and item you already have a copy of, the copy is not considered stolen). It's both easier and a bit harder to get away with crimes, but it doesn't really matter too much since the punishment is so light even for mass genocide.

Skyrim is more of the same, some new crimes, same way of escaping a bounty or removing it (jail or coin, expect for the telepathic orc strongholds, only coin or death), and the occasional hired thug for uncaught crimes sent by telepathic victims of your thievery (which you can easily avoid anyway). Bounties are tied to the hold you committed the crime(s) which...kind of makes sense in a civil war if you commit a crime in a Stormcloak hold but wouldn't be applied to an Imperial hold, I'd also imagine more petty crime wouldn't be big news in a war. But mass murder in The Pale won't apply to The Rift for example, no matter how much time has passed news of the mass murderer won't spread. This is retarded to me, you can maybe convince me if you said it would be more contained if it was an unknown, stealthy murderer like in Blood on the Ice but if some random fucker in Daedric armor starts casting fireballs and summoning Dremora like it's the Oblivion Crisis all over again you'd expect news like that to spread like wildfire. I'm overthinking a Bethesda game, I know.
Becoming a thane gets you a single use "get out of jail free card" if your bounty is under 1000 gold. You can bribe guards, persuade guards, pacify temporarily, kill witnesses, hell even taking the hold during a civil war can clear your bounty. And I ask you, what is the fucking point of any of this if the punishment is so light no matter what you do. Serve jail, minor skill penalty. Rich? Gold is incredibly easy to come by in the truck loads that it doesn't really matter, and if you run out you can just go to jail again for that minor skill penalty. Guards may kill you if your bounty is too high (I assume the devs figured you can't get a bounty that high with anything other than assault and murder) but not always and you can just pacify them again and then pay/go to jail. Speaking of jails, they're easy to escape and conveniently lead you to your shit and safely outside where you can easily make a break for it. Except Cidna Mine I believe, if this was some insane vault-like jail filled with traps and anti-lockpicking spells and you had anti-magic collars on (and had your fingers stuck in mittens or some shit) I'd understand. But nope, only the quest allows you to escape Cidna Mine. Finish the quest and you can never escape again. Outside of that bullshit, no real punishment. Oh and I think stolen items stack again, but now you can separate the stolen item by putting it somewhere and your stack will be owned by you again.

ESO is again more of the same but adds necromancy to the crime list (which makes fucking sense), fences can clear your bounty, and makes the bounty system more punishing by preventing NPCs from interacting with you and having guards kill you on sight as soon as you commit a major crime (assault, murder, resisting arrest, necromancy, being a vamp or werewolf if you use your powers). And then it fucks it up immediately. Firstly, guards are immortal, meaning the all powerful vestige that defeating all sorts of godlike enemies...can't beat some random guard in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. Secondly, while they can kill you, this is an MMO and death is almost meaningless. Instead they just take your stolen items, subtract the gold from that to your bounty (that's retarded in any other context but again this is an MMO), and if it's not enough they'll take all your gold (I think it's all, not just whatever is left to clear your bounty). Thirdly, parts of the crime and bounty payoff system is paid DLC...fucking MMOs. There's a setting that prevents you from accidentally killing innocents, but you can complete DB quests if you have it on...this is the Dark fucking Brotherhood nigger, no one is innocent! There's probably more but I want to wrap this up so lastly there was going to be a PVP bounty hunting system that allowed players with bounties to be hunted down by other players in PVE zones, this would have be so much more interesting if done right, but of course this was scrapped. Ahhh, ESO. Making me interested from a glance and then reminding me why I wouldn't touch you with a 39 and a half foot pole after even the most surface level "research."

I'm probably forgetting something or fucking something up so feel free to correct me.
TL;DR So many crimes, so many ways to clear your bounty, but the punish almost never fits the crime as punishments in these games are essentially slaps on the wrist under a certain gold value, which can still (sometimes) easily be cleared. No public humiliations (faggots on the internet has ruined that term), no executions, there's no point in time being passed when time doesn't matter beyond Daggerfall for the most part (some quests in Morrowind are time sensitive), no real lasting consequences even for mass murder beyond bounty being harder to clear and some quest-tied (albeit non-essential) NPCs might be killed. Hell I'm pretty sure for most games you can almost murder someone (or murder someone's family member), come back the next day and increase their deposition (if you can, looking at you Skyrim) and it's like it nothing ever happened. In Skyrim I think they just stop caring after you serve jail time, if they don't just lead them to a guard and let them do the work for you.

So the official lore is that Vivec disappears at the end of the third era, before Oblivion. His fate is murky.

But does anybody else think it would be really fitting if he "disappears" because you, the reincarnated Nerevarine, bust a cap in his ass sometime after defeating Dagoth Ur?

I mean, fuck that floating faggot. Backstabbing son of a bitch.

Yes. That. Make that canon.

According to the UESP Wiki, it is already one theorized fate of Vivec:

After the Nerevarine Prophecy was concluded the status of Vivec became murky. Some sources claimed Vivec much like Almalexia, Sotha Sil, and Dagoth Ur, died in the wake of the Nerevarine's wrath, and Vivec admitted as much to the Nerevarine that it was possible they would die by their hand.

I mean, hell, you can kill him in the game. Even trap his soul in Azura's Star, if you have it. He also loses his essential character flag after you kill Dagoth Ur.

I dont know of the Tribunal whose betrayal was worse Ayem's or Vehk's? Ayem was your fucking wife and Vehk you rescued from the fucking gutter and reading between the lines treated like a son.

With Vehk, he at least came to feel remorseful about it, Ayem seemingly never came to terms with the grave betrayal, then went insane.

To some extent, sure. He lies to your fucking face about it though. So he ain't that remorseful.
The nature of the event makes it difficult to parse the truth of the matter, especially when the truth was changed retroactively by the power of the heart. All we know for certain is they made an oath to not use the power of Lorkhan and Kagrenac's tools and ended up doing so. Velothi cursed to become the Dunmer, the rest is history.

azura got pissed too and nerevar was brought back just like that other dude said it would happen even though vivek said he was cappin.
