Yeah bro don't you know its more immersive if your forced to buy an overpriced map item from the shop AND HAVE IT EQUIPPED in order to access the map? Also your map has durability and breaks so be careful not to have it out when your attacked by a mudcrab while looking at it.
What kind of autistic modlist is this? Seriously I want a name so I can look over it and see what stupid shit is also in it.
I swear the amount of autism and busywork that goes into some of this 'realism' and 'immersion' shit these people must enjoy truck simualtion games.
I bet you if these people were forced outside of their basement and dropped into an unknown medieval setting, I bet they wished they had all the normal game mechanics rather than this autistic "Well first you need to buy the map and equip it to know where you are!" I bet you that they'd force you to do actual cartography to find your location on the map by removing the player marker and moving the camera to the middle of the map if they could.
Not to mention the two camps of thought of "Surely we should have lots of interesting things happen every 10 metres so players dont feel bad about having to travel by foot everywhere" vs "No we can't have too many things happen because that's unrealistic and you should enjoy the scenery more"
That's the curse of open world games in general. You have to find the right balance otherwise your player will either be bored or frustrated and overstimulated. Let's hope these fools never get into actual game dev, then again they wouldn't be making modlists otherwise.

This modlist. Is the same i talked about months ago about being discontinued, but this is the most recent version.
I mean, doesn't look bad, but that's the thing with overhaul mods like Enai and Simon's mods, they can make or break an entire modlist. And if this is a vanilla+ modlist these mods should not be included.
Seems like too much to me, personally. But I have never gotten the obsession with tweaking every single texture or ass hair on Lydia's butt cheek.
Depends on the modlist, most of those mods are mechanics related and patches from my experience. There is an autistic amount of graphical mods in these modlists but some are just one or two npc overhauls and a few flora and maybe fauna mods, not much.
What's everyone's opinion on the Gate to Sovngarde modlist?
I've heard of it, but as soon as I read collection I thought of how much I dislike Vortex and immediately dismissed it. Jayserpa is a good modder so it's probably fine. He made some streams if you want to flick through it for the basic ideas. Doesn't look like my thing, I much prefer magic and combat based Wabbajack lists over graphics, which is why I tend to ask around dickswords related to a list I'm trying to see if anyone can help me turn off the performance eating graphics without breaking anything. I tend to get shit on however because "how dare you try and get any support for modifying this list?! Play as is or don't play at all!"
Going to play Sotha Sil Expanded for the 1st time right now and if this profile pic is real then the modder looks like an Ubermensch https://trainwiz.tumblr.com/post/118060638214/a-comprehensive-list-of-all-my-tes-mods

HAHAHAHA fucking Trainwiz. I keep mentioning /tesg/ like a dickwad but he is/was a big name there. And no I don't believe it is, I believe that's some actor or thing, like how Fitgirl's profile picture is of a French actor. I think this is what he really looks like:

He also loves making shitpost mods so expect some in that list. I personally find his mods a hit or miss but they usually radiate that early modding scene energy (mostly because he was a big modder during the earlier years of Skyrim).

Using it right now. Great list for exploration/vanilla quest expansions but the cities are absurdly busy, even with the city expansion mods included in the list. Most vanilla NPCs have plenty of expanded dialogue options that are a mix of decent splicing/Elevenlabs AI. In terms of combat it uses Adamant/SimonRim perks and I'd probably say it's more challenging than most lists but less than autism-tier overhauls like Requiem and Requiem-based lists like Wildlander. GtS isn't fully delevelled like Requiem but most unique dungeon/quest rewards and certain enemies like dragons start at high levels to avoid too much early progression.
Besides that it has most of the standard modern mod upgrades like Precision and SkyClimb. It has all of JaySerpa's mods (since he made the list) and IMO I don't think he's ever made a bad mod. Overall I think it's one of the better lists I've played.
A few nitpicks:
1. When fighting in first person with greatswords, power attacks use an animation where you flip the sword around and pommel strike, which completely fucks the range of your power attacks because of Precision.
2. It includes Interesting NPCs which I fucking hate because of the shitty scripting, bad voice acting, and joke NPCs. I consider this a nitpick since 90% of modlists seem to include it.
3. You start the game with no compass, no map marker showing you your exact location on the map, and no sneaking indicator when crouched. Personally I actually really liked this and you can unlock them after a few perks after a couple hours of gameplay but I think enough people complained about it that there's an option somewhere to enable the compass and map marker right away.

I don't mind the no compass or sneaking indicator until you get a perk too much, the no map marker is a bit much but at least you can actually get it back instead of removing it entir-oh God it's like I said earlier.
I bet you that they'd force you to do actual cartography to find your location on the map by removing the player marker

gaahhh trainwiz. as someone said above he was a big /tesg/ modder but he was also one of the first to get his stuff on Skyrim creation club. he said that that mod would include some c0da hints and nods, and that discussion lead to bethesda saying that yea creation club mods are canon. was wild back in the day seeing c0da be canoninzed in its antithesis, skyrim.

What's wrong with Vortex?
Vortex touches your Skyrim install folder so you have to be careful of how you uninstall mods. Mod Organizer uses a virtual file system and is also way easier to fix load issues by dragging and dropping mods in your plugin and mod lists. It looks like a program that came out in 2003 so zoomers are scared shitless of it. Vortex is fine if you want to use Nexus mod lists, only want to install a small number of mods, or are a retarded zoomer Skybaby.

The best Skyrim mod is the one that makes guards explode into a bunch of sweetrolls each time one says the word "sweetroll."

It takes longer than it should to unzip/install mods, and for bigger modpacks it just forgets that there's more mods in the list to download, requiring a few restarts. But once everything is done it works fine.
The whole mod manager is just inferior in every way to MO2 anyway, which is hilarious since it was helped made by the same guy. Also tends to fuck up installations.

Good, there are people who aren't retarded on that subreddit.
>Redguard aren't human
Accidentally based, though technically they are they just aren't descendants of the other Men, because every species labeled as Men don't share the same ancestors. Something something Kalpa. Thread. From what I can see from his profile he probably meant to post it on the shitposting lore subreddit TrueSTL, so he thankfully (hopefully) was shitposting.
