However to me Morrowind's downsides are the small and depressing dark island of Vvardenfell the game takes place in, it's not as enticing to explore as the vast grasslands, snow lands, or deserts you can roam in Daggerfall

I'd argue that it's the only TES entry worth exploring every little nook and cranny of. Definitely the most alien and interesting world of any TES game, also its the only fully handcrafted world with no procedural generation, and was designed around you traversing and exploring where the later games overworlds were designed around you clicking fast travel on everything.

My other issue with Morrowind is a little controversial I know, but I don't like the combat system where it doesn't register if your weapon are actually hitting your enemy or not, it's up to a dice roll.

Not really that controversial, this filters lots of people when they first try the game. Usually goes like this: someone makes a caster character, runs out of magicka after 2-3 spells and since there's no passive regeneration resorts to swinging a weapon they have no specialization in at the mudcrabs outside sedya neen and goes "wtf why won't any of my attacks land". Basically stops being an issue as soon as you start leveling up your weapon skills/attributes, also you quickly realize that fatigue potions are trivially easy to make and basically free money. But by that time people already give up.

Oh and getting your shit pushed in by the dark brotherhood assassin because you don't know there's a mod to delay expansion content.

The troons in workplaces over there are generally either non-aligned or keep that shit out of their work. I've worked with some. They're not half bad workers, just don't ask what they're up in their spare times (generally sick porn shit).

I personally don't give a shit if they want to make stuff more realistic with whatever body type nonsense. It's my game. If I want to replace the NPCs with dinosaurs, I should be allowed to. Leave me alone.

Tbf to New Vegas(which did have some pre-woke elements) it's mostly circumstance of when it came out. If you were a 10-16 year old boy in 2010 who liked RPGs you either trooned out, became very racist or both.

That and Bethesda attracts autists like flies and that's a serious comorbidity. It's the same story in the real time strategy Fandom, it even has its own "ground zero" in the form of Hearts of Iron 4.

killable children for skyrim was a weird mod, they kind of banned from nexus and that made you find it only on some weird sites where you had to guess if you donwloaded the actual esp file or some weird rar that was going to lock you into a bunch of survey loop or you donwloaded the dreaded .exe virus ridden file but then they allowed it for SE version to exist no problem.

But why could you not just play the original at any point in the last 20 years?

The only difference is that the remaster now has generic UE5 graphics so it looks like every other game, and it has more bugs, and it's been censored.

Also if you don't want to mod the original then you have the fan "Skyblivion" mod that is coming out soon which will be free and will be better in every way (although I wouldn't be surprised if it's also got no genders in it).

I was mind blown when I saw they were asking full price for a game everyone already owns just to Unreal Engine it with stock Unreal assets.

I dunno. It looks like the regular UE5 trying too hard to be real shit you can see anywhere else. The colors don't pop, the UI design is improved but in exchange for dropping the absolute peak that was the OG's UI presentation and sound design. Pirate it or just play OG Oblivion, either way you'll probably just end up donning your varying bling of chameleon to terrorize the indigenous Wes Johnson population. It's hard to divorce Oblivion from the inherent absurdity of itself. But as far as remasters go though, it seems like their hearts were in the right place.
