I decided to give this game ESO a try and for all my grievances I had with some bits of Skyrim's writing, it at least stays in its own lane and it doesn't really affect how I play the game. ESO's writing is just fucking bad and insufferable that it makes anything Emil Pagliarulo shit out look like Shakespeare in comparison. The amount of dialogue written just to fucking waste your time to the point where I just started skipping lines because it just redundantly repeats everything I either have already seen or I can easily surmise just by using my brain which apparently the writer here doesn't think I have. Let me paint a picture here.

"Please help us stranger, there was a gunman inside the bank here and he's gunned down all my friends."
What happened?
Goodbye

"I saw the man in the bank, he was wielding an AR-15 and he was yelling about feds or something? I don't even know. Please, go and investigate. I need to confirm he was wielding an AR-15 and he was yelling about feds."
Alright, I'll help investigate this man.
Goodbye

"Thank you, I'm not sure what was going through his mind when he did this. But thank god my friends are safe. Now go in there and make sure he was wielding an AR-15."

You examine the body of the gunman and you can confirm he was wielding an AR-15 and, peculiarly, an FBI tag. You should investigate some of the witnesses here.

"I saw that man and he was wielding an AR-15! And he was shouting about feds or something."

"It was crazy, he was firing that AR-15 and shouting about feds!"

"So you've uncovered that, indeed, the gunman was wielding an AR-15? And you found an FBI tag on his body? Huh, I wonder what that means?"
Maybe the gunman was an employee of the FBI?
Goodbye

"Nonsense, there's no way an agent of the FBI would ever break into a bank and carry around an AR-15 firing it around against innocent civilians!"

"I swear we're building strength for the second round with the Thalmor just keep letting them round up your neighbors trust us bro just a couple more decades please bro".

Haha yeah who ever heard of a white nationalist group being compromised by a high-ranking member turning criminal informant for a globalist empire.
Did you miss how like half the Imperial supporters are Thalmor Assets in Skyrim? Or do you just ignore it because Ulfric is le racist?

Did you know that Trump himself was a Democrat asset when he was running in 2016? That they helped push him to the front of the Republican primary because they thought they'd have no trouble at all beating him?

How did that turn out?

But for realsies, how do Imperial supporters justify that they are so inept that they continually let Ulfric live? Is your justification that he is a Thalmor asset so it's part of the plan?

I don't think Ulfric's an insider for the Thalmor. The dossier states that he's an uncooperative asset and only useful for keeping the civil war going and that any side winning is undesirable for the Thalmor.
Status: Asset (uncooperative), Dormant, Emissary Level Approval
The [sic] so-called Markarth Incident was particularly valuable from the point of view of our strategic goals in Skyrim, although it resulted in Ulfric becoming generally uncooperative to direct contact.
As long as the civil war proceeds in its current indecisive fashion, we should remain hands-off.
The incident at Helgen is an example where an exception had to be made - obviously Ulfric's death would have dramatically increased the chance of an Imperial victory and thus harmed our overall position in Skyrim.
A Stormcloak victory is also to be avoided, however, so even indirect aid to the Stormcloaks must be carefully managed.
Maybe they see him as a useful tool, but he's not directly working for them, although some statements do seem to suggest they previously did have a direct line of contact with him.

Interestingly, apparently they did get information out of him during the interrogations and led him to believe it caused the Imperial City to be captured.
He was made to believe information obtained during his interrogation was crucial in the capture of the Imperial City (the city had in fact fallen before he had broken),

It's funny because Skyrim is consistently talked down for having a "dumbed down" story, but then whenever a Stormcloak/Empire debate starts you find out like 99% of the people who played the game have no fucking clue how assets work in the realm of espionage.

Anyways, The Old Knight's shitting on Oblivion Remastered Combat and retards who say the game barely changed anything again.

The horrendous faces the Remastered changed to worse, meanwhile OCOv2 is much more grounded at editing faces; is basically a failure.

I don't get why people bring up that Ulfric gets captured a bunch of times up as some sort of slight against him.

Are they not aware that The Empire are the ones who cannot seem to actually be able to kill him when they have him in custody?
It's probably part of a thing where he's unknowingly a Thalmor asset if their dossier on him is anything to go by. The first time would seem suspicious to anyone with knowledge that he was captured by the Thalmor, but I'd imagine that piece of information is not well known.
His escapes might seem badass to some, suspicious to others, depends on who you ask and if the person writing it is a hack or not. Still, Ulric being Ulric I doubt they could really do much and he's just shitting on all of them. "P-p-please Ulric, please stop absolutely mogging us."

"This canonical in-game document that exists specifically to answer my question doesn't count because it makes the retroactive stand-in for my political dream daddy look bad!"

Okay. Sorry to break it to you but the American two-party system is exactly as fake as the civil war is and the jews are playing both sides just like the Thalmor are. If the Thalmor wanted Ulfric dead he'd be dead, if the jews wanted Trump dead he'd be dead, they're both allowed to keep doing what they want because it benefits a conspicuously influential racial supremacist religious zealot accelerationist doomsday cult behind the scenes. It's really not that complicated.

And yeah for the record everybody who was alive for 9/11 knows that Trump rubbed elbows with the Clintons just like we all know they both rubbed elbows with Epstein. It's not a secret, and it's not the gotcha you think it is if you think about it for more than thirty seconds.

I was about to say "don't bring that shit up if you don't understand it" but you don't even understand fictional politics.

Honestly just keep this shit in mind for when elder scrolls 6 comes around and they decide to portray the thalmor sympathetically and suddenly you'll gets nogs justifying the Thalmor killing and oppressing people because of Tiber Septim. I don't know. This shit always bothers me because it seems like so many people are okay with oppression.

Oppression is nice when you do it.
That's the mindset of those fuckers.
