Yeah, it seems like a bug to me. Counting logged-in registered users should work but there's no way to identify guests (the Tor browser sends random garbage to sites trying to fingerprint it and you look like you're coming from whatever exit node you popped out of to the server, so there's no way to uniquely identify Tor users.)

This is not the worst fate that can happen. People are still consistently able to read DS and they are doing that. DS would probably become a household name like Alex Jones by now if not getting banned constantly, now it will never be anywhere near the mainstream, but I don't think being mainstream is the point. I don't mind changing domains often

Tell them to download Brave and hit Alt+Shift+N, then you give them the .onion address and tell them to copy-paste it into the address bar. Let's introduce the zoomers to Tor.

As to my knowledge, 4chan is basically a honeypot site. Not in the sense that posting there will get feds on your doorstep in seconds, but more just that the jannies there are all the kinds of people that are opposed to the userbase. The rules of the site don't really even matter that much, the jannies just do as they will and remove good threads while keeping demoralisation and bait threads. In other words it's basically compromised which is probably why it's so low energy these days.
Would having a technological barrier to entry be that bad?
