The Final Fantasy Thread

The only thing I liked about the changes is that it meant the Remake was not intended to be the definitive version of the OG FF7.

But I underestimated the dumbass fanbase who say the added chapter where Cloud gives Wedge a cavity search was always part of the vision.

I liked seeing Midgar from a wide angle and being able to take it all in. You don't get that out of the intro to the original. In this, you get it many many times. Seeing the entirety of the underneath of the plate is great. It feels like a real place. I also think the slums, especially the wall market were very well put together and coherent.

And that's where it ends. When you're not on missions that were in the original, it reeks of padding. There is some real slog missions you do in the slums that were mind numblingly dull and tedious. The combat cannot be the weakest component to the gameplay.

But that's pretty much how Jack's always talked.

The Garland lines were also used already in the original Trials of the Dragon King DLC. Jack's just saying them with a lot more "oomph" this time. Probably because, with whatever fuckery's happened in these DLCs, the Warriors of Light are finally strong enough to be a threat to him + the Lufenians.

The only reason I didn't buy FFVII remake is because there is no gay hot tub scene. That was a major deal breaker.
