Are we really gonna sit here, and act like Cloud's one true love isn't the seven-foot-tall silver-haired man with a built-in orchestra who's been chasing him from series to series for over the last twenty years?

Your ideas are intriguing and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

How are the FF PC ports? I've heard it's mixed bag depending on which game you're getting

I tried the FFVI port and it pissed me off to the point I never left after the first save point.
Primarily because they changed the ATB gauge from the classic filling bar to a rising portrait.

Like, how the hell am I supposed to figure out whose turn it is? Before, I could quickly check the atb gauge and then look back at the game, but this forces me to stare at the bottom of the screen to make sure I can quickly put in commands on time.
Fucking hate it. That, and the other shit like the ""improved graphics"" that looks like RPG maker. Come on Square, you used to make your own distinct graphic style FFS. FFV is like this as well but at least they kept the gauge at least.

Oh Sephiroth's bottom. No doubt. He even got AIDs in Advent Children after all because Nomura found out what Bug Chasing was.
Was just comparing the two girls individually. It's common knowledge that the girls are intentionally written as near opposites to their appearances and combat roles. The healer is proactive, the monk is reactive.

FFIV is a port of a DS remake, and whenever you're in a battle, FPS takes a huge dive. We're talking, like, 15 frames per second or so. Thankfully, there's a fix that brings you to somewhat reasonable 25-30 FPS. It's playable, but HUD and graphics overall are still lacking.

FFX-X2 port is very good, with some nice additions like speeding up battles, keeping your overdrive gauges on at all times, etc. Unfortunately, you still can't skip cutscenes, and these can last forever.

FF9 has the same additions, and I like this port the best. One small gripe is that if you like to play from different devices (say, you have a laptop and a desktop), you'd need to manually transfer your save files to cloud to continue playing when switching devices. Kind of ridiculous.

I managed to find a copy of FF7 and 8 Twin pack for the Switch. I say it was worth the purchase. Has anyone played World of Final Fantasy? I have it on my Wish List on the E shop.

True fans get the Barrett gold saucer date
Lol that's who I dated.

I am playing through FFIX again. First time in years that I've done so, so my memory is pretty hazy.

Currently on disc 3 so the overall plot is starting to open up. I guess what has surprised me is how the game's tone really takes a left turn at the end of disc 2 and the start of disc 3. Everyone is getting blown the fuck up, people are sad and the menagerie of villains have begun dropping the other shoe... repeatedly. I really like the game. The combat and equipment system is pretty good and more or less a not-broken version of FFVI (for better or worse). Cutscenes are also pretty neat. It's a shame this was the last real Final Fantasy game before the series completely went the route of FFVIII and became nothing but weird teen melodrama stuff.

I recently picked up FFX & X2 on the Switch. Last week, FF9 and World of Final Fantasy were on sale on the Eshop.

I wanna get FF12, but Unsure how it is. Anyone play 12?

That makes the game better. SNES one was lame. The Clown popup fits the theme of the game. The whole game is made for clowns. I only played this version, and i say this as its insanely buggy... still i will play that over SNES( one time i had the game spoilt for me if you know what i mean XD)
footage of youtube video i uploaded some time ago. Lets just say, this is not meant to happen)

and FF5 quit sometimes by random because i moved the mouse when playing. But i still would ten times play those versions than 1 tile boxes on SNES.

12 is either love it or hate it.

The combat is radically different, the license system makes you think on what to specialize in and the story is really political with your main character being relegated as a glorified extra or supporting cast after 2-3 hours of gameplay.

The great thing about it the game is the amount of content it has, the characters are all likeable, the story has some real real depth and it was a hallmark of graphical development late on the shelf life of ps2.

I like 12. But I also think the Zodiac Remaster is pretty integral to having a good time since it brought back jobs more or less.

It's only OK, but it's the last decent single-player main series FF that isn't an action RPG. Incredible how it was originally released 15 years and three console generations ago. Square-Enix has really lost its way, hasn't it?

I have XII on my Switch although I never got very far in it.

It's neat but the pseudo-MMO style combat isn't quite doing it for me and it feels as though you're better off focusing on Job meta if you want to be successful at the game.

Also, I heard that the Switch port of IX is one of the most scuffed ports. Unless they fixed it at some point and I'm not aware of it?
