Not the poster but I can give a pretty easy answer as to what people would complain about.
Don't forget that the Martial Artist route has fatshaming. Despite the fat kid being the best one mechanically.

The Ninja route is the one that would give them the biggest problems by far, especially because you get a reward for murdering everyone. Tons of games let you kill innocent people but I can't remember one that actually rewarded you for hunting them down and killing everyone.

e: including possibly a man in a geisha outfit if I'm remembering correctly. square rewarding violence against trans people!

It's the opposite, you get a reward if you didn't kill anyone. Ghosts and non-humans didn't count. Of course, the one stage where you shouldn't kill anyone just had to have a banger soundtrack.

I was under the impression that you needed to kill everyone if you wanted to get the Muramasa, since that's what the walkthrough I was using at the time said.

If not, then yeah whatever.
Come to think of it, it might be two prizes. One for massacre and one for pacifist, the latter being more preferrable. It's been a while.

This is one of my biggest gripes with the FF series (a few other RPGs as well). There almost inevitably comes a point where the only way to make certain set-ups, characters, or classes work is to cheese things and break them.

I'm not even talking about builds that are suppose to be OP, I'm talking about making certain things just be somewhat viable end game or near end game. Cyan from 6 is a perfect example. Low magic, slow speed, a skill that most people hate and equipment that always seems sub-par. Unless you take the time to either build up his magic skills or kit him out with the merit award, he's just not really viable.
in Kefka's tower I always teamed him with Mog/Umaro/Gau and let the auto pilots go while Cyan was charging up his LAZERS.
 
FF8 would have been a better game if there weren't experience levels at all and all advancement was done by junctioning.
Magic in Final Fantasy is pretty redundant.

At first, 8 seems like a good compromise. Ex: Squall can junction Death to his sword to inflict instant death. They made it too complicated: you need a GF to do simple stuff like "Item".

Should have made it so spell uses don't go down for anything that you have junctioned. Major quality of life improvement and allows you to actually cast shit without dreading having to draw more copies.

I thought FF8 was generally well-balanced if you went through it without specifically trying to break it, but breaking the game is just so easy to do even accidentally (huh I wonder what these tents refine into...oh.)
 
Is there any word on FF7R Intergrade heading to ps4?
