The Final Fantasy Thread

Any Abrahamic religion allegory falls apart because remember the Ancients had flying space pyramids, and it's been referenced in the remake

Is there any news on the SNES Pixel Remasters coming out? The only one I have any interest in playing from that batch is probably 5.

To drag this back on topic: Everybody, what are your ideas for what the FF game for the 64 could of been? I know they had a screenshot or two of Celes, Locke, and Shadow fighting some rock creature, but outside of that I've never heard anything.

Considering the N64's limitations, I really can't imagine a Final Fantasy that would look good. Even if Rare co-developed it. The N64 would have been perfect for something along the lines of Secret of Mana, though.

It would look better, but the sound/music/video quality would be shit and it wouldn't sell as well being on underperforming n64.

Your wish can come true, just play the mobile port of Adventures of Mana or the port of Secret of Mana.
Legends is closer, aesthetically, to the cancelled CD-ROM.

Remember when Origin tried porting Ultima 7 to SNES? That's what Square was faced with. The fact that SoM turned out so well is a miracle.

Legend of Mana doesn't have blocky ass graphics that the n64 was known for,

I'm hoping that the series is revitalized now that we may get more in depth remakes like Trials. There was as you said a ton of shit that has had to be cut, but that wasn't the only mana game to be the victim of something like that. Going back and fixing some of the shit for stuff like Children of Mana or Dawn of Mana would most certainly be welcome
