Decided to give this a go, long time Warframe player. These are going to be some rambling thoughts on the game. I am playing on PS5 for context.

Pros
-Open world zones are great, Warframe should implement something like this.
-Drop in drop out mission structure is great
-Its fun to shoot things, gunplay feels good.

Cons
-Atrocious lag everywhere. Sometimes I will shoot an enemy for 5 seconds with nothing happening, other times I will rubberband around.
-Drop rates are fake, I spent 3 straight hours doing a mission for a Freyna part that had a 20% rate.
-Its expensive. The Warframe reactor equivalent here costs 1200 caliber, or over $20.
-Leveling takes an eternity, especially with guns.
-Everyone is Bunny, very little variety in characters I am matchmaking with
-Voice acting is grating, lip sync doesnt exist

So far I am enjoying it, but I like brainrot style games like this where you just kill enemies. The reactors being so expensive worries me, because I know from Warframe those are required for building your character, so I will be farming them at some point. Nexon making them over $20 makes me think they are going to be a pain in the ass.

-The "special ops" missions where you fight waves are notorious for their insane rubberbanding, and there is also a consistent hiccup that happens exactly every 59 minutes, I think. Some poorly implemented garbage collection seems to be the running theory. It happens on every platform.
-That drop specifically is infamous for being a flat out fucking lie, so you're right on the mark.
-Leveling is indeed fucking awful, even if you play the dedicated kuiper mining mission to to it faster.
-Bunny is a blight on the game because she is a walking 60m wide killbox and they don't seem to want do anything about her. I suspect she's one of the biggest reasons people are leaving the game because other players have nothing to do when a Bunny is on the team. The player base is only gonna consist of Bunny meta-slaves if something isn't done about her soon.

The reactors are easier to farm than in Warframe, as they're always available at a 6% drop rate from certain relics amorphs. Most people run the Devourer amorphs on Hard to farm them. There is a mission that takes 3-4 minutes to finish and you can get 2 amorphs from it, then Devourer takes 20 seconds to kill with Lepic or Enzo. The biggest issue for me with the reactors energy activators and formas crystallization catalysts are the materials required to build them as they only drop at a reasonable rate from very specific missions and locations, and those get old real fast, especially if you don't have an Enzo to open the encrypted vaults.

You also need to polarize EVERY mod slot on a character and weapon to properly build them as the mods are too expensive and this can quickly lead to burnout as you're just endlessly grinding the kuiper mining mission.

tbh I don't really recommend the game until something is done about Bunny (if that's ever gonna happen). It's just a poorly balanced warframe with more paid titties and ass.

I got Ajax to 40 doing it and worked on a lot of mastery XP so it wasnt a total waste at least but yeah I got really bored following a robot around. Of course I chose the worst one to farm first lol, at least its done.

Glad to hear the reactors arent that bad to farm later, I am still pretty early so I dont even know if I will be playing at the point where it matters.

Bunny is giving me pre rework World On Fire Ember vibes. I dont hate it right now while I am levelling, but I have found quite a few dungeons where I am just running behind a group of 3 of them and thats going to get old quick.

Yep, this is exactly what people have been saying. I didn't play warframe until 2023, but I can imagine it was awful if this gives people the same vibes.

If you're gonna continue playing, I recommend you get Sharen and Enzo ASAP, as they are basically obligatory for certain amorphs and materials. Especially Sharen. The real game starts when you finish the campaign and all the bosses on normal, the last one of which you're gonna have to deal with retarded nigger cattle teammates.

Grinded materials for Viessa finally. Played Ajax for the majority of time, but his abilities are just awful. This whole Bunny situation is retarded, but unless they start buffing the other character, nothing is going to change.

She's annoying as hell to get, but Viessa is so much fun. I recommend you spec 100% into cooldown, then range + crit. She's how a caster is supposed to feel like in this type of game. She was the first ult I grinded for and it was so worth it.

Drop rates are fake, I spent 3 straight hours doing a mission for a Freyna part that had a 20% rate.

That's the only time I felt like the drop rates were fake. A lot of people were complaining about it too. They are speculating there is a bug on server side.
I have successfully grinded parts for a few descendants (4) and I feel like the drop rates were on point, excluding that one mission for Freyna, which makes no sense since she is not that good compared to other descendant you can get early on (Bunny).

you can grind everything gameplay related ingame, which is the point I guess. but you can pay money for shortcuts and cosmetics. keep in mind it's still a f2p game.

The only upside is that now I can dump all the extra parts into the weekend bot shop to buy shit that usually cost money. Already bought the extra descendent slot and a bunch of colors. Hopefully the shop get expanded to even more free shit (like skins). Think I'm gonna skip ulti gley and try to finish Ulti Freya.

Really liking the 400% dungeons. Actually did one without a overbuilt Bunny and actually had a play the game with a bunch of randoms.

smartest thing they did, especially so fast. now compare that to the average development-pace of bunghole. otoh they just might have in the back and waiting with the release.

since it's f2p you can just download it and spend an hour give it a try and understanding how stuff works, at worst you just wasted a bit of bandwidth and an hour...

Since you know the roll % and the 5 items you are trying for the 6% items feels like getting a S Tier item from a regular "I just payed money" gacha roll.

why? it's literal free exp/drops without having to do anything. it's a character made for farming, why would you want to farm slower? I wouldn't bring her to speedkill colossi or anything, but to get those drops getting them quicker with a bunny player doesn't really bother me, and I don't even have to play the char myself.
there's other stuff where a bunny doesn't really help and you get to shoot things still. lot of bunny players suck and you have to finish most bosses yourself when they build another glass-cannon for mobbing.

even if you spend money on an ulti char you'd still have to farm for other shit, all it does maybe let you invest in a char a bit earlier if you don't wanna put on an EA and catalyze a non-ulti character (not that the difference is that big), not to mention it won't get you weapons you want 5 copies of.
as for drops, not everything is 6% (from the top of my head that's only for some chars, worst weapon rate is 10% for some parts iirc, not all of them) and eventually you'll get it alongside the other stuff you farm for (with the desire sensor probably more than the stuff you actually want). some are gated behind hard colossi which can be a bit more time-investment but otoh you'd want to use that pimped out char on something anyway. basically you always get "something", with the new shop even if it's just trash for turning it in for colors and other stuff that usually costs money. same way the whole catalyst/ea economy works.

still two layers max, first a chance of the AM, then another when you open it. some chars/items still have flat 20% chance, but sometimes are gated behind normal (like blair, funny enough sharen drops on hard too iirc).
new shop and events give out some stuff on top, there's currently an event where you can get like 2 prime guns for just playing the game a few times and stabilizers to improve your chances (as little as they do). grab a greg, build it, and you're halfway there. oh and it's not even blueprints, but actual parts. means you can research it directly with no extra steps.

that being said I think that's part of the charm. sure, youtubers will all kvetch about min/max farm, but gg you ran around in circles for an hour for exp without any mission rewards and measly drops, while still having to run other shit you'd need for the rewards. what a great investment of playtime....
also the collective shitting on bunny/freyna players (with the occasional lepic) fucking up yet another outpost farm is hilarious, especially with shitposting in chat inbetween. feels a bit oldschool in that regard.

Because I want to play the game I downloaded. I'm not interested in holding W and watching numbers go up. I build my guns and my other characters to use their unique abilities, but I can't since bugpeople using Bunny removes all the gameplay that isn't just holding W. because that only works in specific parts of the game, and often not the one you build your gun and character for? it's like trying to mob with pre-update hailey, it works but there are more efficient ways to do it.

try farming with ajax then, hope you have a thunder cage. she's much less disruptive when doing gluttony etc or crawling around when build with zero survivability for MUH DEEPS.
it's also an experience you won't get in most other games if you take the bunnypill.

look, I get where you coming from but like I said why would anyone want to farm slower? besides, freyna is the new FOTM, enjoy your green screen at 1/4 the frames.
