The first time a game made you cry.

Tales of Symphonia, in the Kratos recruitment route when Zelos dies. The fact that Zelos let himself get killed so he could stop being the chosen just feels bad, especially how his sister reacts vs how he thought she'd react. It makes the whole thing just meaningless, too bad it wasn't canon.

maybe alittle on the inside when it ended. think i might get another copy 20th anniversary on vita.

Silent Hill 2...when James finally realizes.
i just got the original psone silent hill on vita looks pretty good. more atmospheric than resident evil style dogs pouncing frights.

I have a couple:

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 - The sequence at the end where you play through Zack's Last Stand. All throughout the entire thing, memories of his friends during the game being shown during the DMW sequences.

Fallout 3 - As James (yer dad) succumbs to radiation poisoning: Run... run! *dies*

Homeworld - Kharak is burning. *cue Adagio for Strings*

Halo Reach - The ending of the New Alexandria level after Kat gets merc'd. For some reason, as evidenced through the subtitles, there were civilians begging for their lives but was cut. Here it is. It was even more nerve-wracking to hear them.

Doom ending when hell killed my rabbit.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 - The sequence at the end where you play through Zack's Last Stand. All throughout the entire thing, memories of his friends during the game being shown during the DMW sequences.

Technically this. Went in expecting Advent levels of bad and came out depressed.

Not full out crying, but a few games have gotten me a bit teary-eyed in certain parts.

Planescape Torment: Deionarra's sensory stone, and when you meet her again for the final time in the Fortress of Regrets. "I forgive what you have done...my love."

Final Fantasy X: Auron's flashback with him pleading to Jecht not to throw his life away. Jecht doing so, feeling so worthless and regretful of his past that he sees dying as the only worthwhile and meaningful thing he can do at this point

Chrono Trigger: Azala accepting death and that her species is doomed to extinction. Asking Ayla to take care of the planet. Her last line of dialogue "we have no future..."

Gwyn's theme, soul of cinders music, and the alternative firelink shrine music when you give the firekeeper eyes all make me tear up, especially Gwyn's theme.

Hollowknight. The game has a very powerful scene that is needed to get its true ending.

Also sorry you lost all your Pokémon OP. I have had that happen to me and I know how much it sucks.
No Cost Too Great...

Every time i replay MGS3 the ending fucking destroys me. Also Lufia II and that little segment with Kurisu on Steins;Gate 0.

The Darkness:

both Jenny’s actual death and her “final moments” with Jackie didn’t necessarily make me cry, actual crying from me is rare, but it was super sad and soulcrushing. I think that’s why I like Jackie’s reaction to Jenny’s death so much, he doesn’t cry or wallow, he just shoots himself and nearly dies in the process, with only The Darkness’ regeneration saving him and even when he comes back and avenges her death, he’s still consumed by guilt, never shrugging off the feeling that it was his fault, even after “spectral Jenny” tells him otherwise in the ending.

This was as Jackie would put it “the second time I died”, first time was RDR1, but that rat bastard @Bunny Tracks said it before me
Even in RDR1, it was Jack’s somber, ominous, bittersweet ending that got me, not John’s big cryfest.
