NOTE TO SELF: Never make textures by yourself again.

So, I found something weird the other day when I was looking for jobs on indeed.com's iPhone app:

This is either extremely selfish of the parents, or the patents didn’t know what they were getting themselves into when they adopted her.

They posted again yesterday, with a cleaned up, slightly less selfish sounding post:

>>We like to travel. Our daughter has pets and prefers to stay with them. She can get pretty emotional about things. We would like to have someone stay with her for weekends or even a couple weeks at a time so we can do more traveling.

We are looking for someone with good character who is energetic, patient, kind and tolerant.<<

Could this be Chris' female counterpart? I mean, they are from Virginia.

I can't help but feel like I'm always incompetent and that I really don't have what it takes to actually work as a programmer. This insecurity has led me to delay even applying for jobs almost a month out of graduation, because I simply have no faith in my ability to write functions during an interview, in a limited timespan, without Google or Stackoverflow (which I use EXTENSIVELY while programming). Essentially I feel like I'm not exactly capable of thinking, just translating pseudocode I rip off the internet into the language of choice. Or slapping very basic shit on top of a framework that practically has the boilerplate done for you. When there's something I actually do have to think about, I can't help but think the solution isn't as optimal as it could be and that I took way too long to come up with it compared to my peers.

I've written two small games using C for an old games console, an Android app that tracks your weight, and a Django site that's basically a niche-specific blogging platform. All of this seems overly simplistic compared to some of the stuff my friends do, like writing this crazy mathematical terrain generation shit for a minecraft clone. Like, he's sitting here going on about variance and standard deviation and I'm just like, I don't think I'd ever be able to write something like this. If there's something I can't write, that means there's a problem I can't solve, and that means I can't solve every problem, which probably means I'm not cut out to do this for a living. I wish I could better articulate this feeling of insecurity.

So I came home last night and found a package for me and could not remember what it was. I started to open it when I realized what it was, it was the new Amon Amarth album! I am so fucking stoked. I got the picture disc, cd and t shirt.

Wow, I still can't believe that Dun and I have been together for six months now.

THAT'S LIKE HALF A YEAR!

I'm going to GenCon this summer. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to pretty much most of the stuff I wanted to do, in terms of game events I wanted to register for, but I was able to get a few. A few of the games I'll be playing:

-Diplomacy (an introduction game for first timers)
-Axis and Allies 1941 (for beginners)
-NSDM Cold War - pretty much it's a shitload of people where they do a simulation of a crisis situation, in this case the Cold War. It's actually based on simulations that White House and Pentagon staffers do.
-THE WORLD'S LARGEST GAME OF CATAN - they're getting like, 1600 people together to play the largest game of Catan ever and they'll even have Guinness Book of World Record people to record it as such. Plus they'll be giving away EXCLUSIVE Catan stuff which will be sweet.

I'm also doing two workshops on board game design since I have some ideas I'm kicking around in my head.

I hope I can play the games I want via pickup games and such. Also worried they still haven't approved the second half of my vacation at work, usually it takes a few days for them to approve it but it's been over a month. I hope I can get a few more days off as I wanna stop by Minneapolis as a side trip.

If any of you are going to GenCon, you're welcome to meet up with me and we could play something.

Bosslady you're a piece of work, that's all I can kindly say about ya.

This is going to be a busy week for me, I hope I don't crash into slumber. In addition to working, I have a party to plan and prepare for for the 4th. I don't even know how many people are going to be there, but I have a ton of baking and food prep in addition to buying alcohol and general party stuff. I want this party to be totally kickass because it's the last 4th of July before my best friend goes to bootcamp and eventually the Marines. :asperchu:

I wish man, I would murder whole villages to go to GenCon.

I've bought so many freaking ponies over the past week.
Lets see:
On Wendsday I bought 27 ponies
I ordered 12 more
And on Saturday I bought 7 ponies

Dafuq is wrong with me (other than liking ponies)
