Nice when they leave their mark!
The book itself is from 1957, but I didn’t notice that until I noticed the writing on the pages. Knowing that this copy of this book is old enough to have potentially aided thousands of college students in their studies, just this one copy, makes me happy for some reason.

The book is also filled with long, written monologues that casually explain to you everything you need to know, and they give the textbook this aesthetic that I never really found in other algebra books like it.

Kinda like the times I would look into the "Date Due" slips in library books and noticed the dates when a particular book was taken out, and find it amusing when the dates go back those many decades.

Sounds pretty cool. If only I didn't forget everything about what I learned in those math classes.

Hopefully the damage was minimal.

Nah, no damage or anything. Guy just slowly backed into the side of another car.

I did see some fucked up shit in June, though. A guy two cars behind me at a stoplight on a state highway pulled an illegal U-turn and got T-boned by a pickup doing 60. Toddler in the back seat had to be airlifted from the scene.

That noise of the impact still fucks with my head.

I hope that kid was okay...

Terminator Genisys isnt an awful movie as people make out outside Emilia Clarke being very annoying as "STRONK FEMALE"

I was filling up my car a few hours ago and something occurred to me. Has anyone else noticed that the music that Sheetz plays inside (and outside) of their stores seems to be perpetually trapped in 2002-2006? Seriously, it seems like every time I go to get gas, they're playing some myspace-era shoegaze rock and it's really fucking bizarre. Or maybe they just want people to associate Sheetz with memories of ironic trucker hats, emo hair, Crazy Frog, pre-faded everything, and flip-phones (if so, then mission accomplished).

Good thing I don't have one of those yet in my area. I don't think I could stand it.

EDIT: The Speedways in my area tend to stay in the 80's and 90's from what I've heard.

I'm thinking about getting into historical reenactment, but I am worried about the budget required for costuming and other equipment.

I am mostly interested in the American Civil War, but I also would go for Classical Roman, Celtic, Dark Age/Vikings, or Medieval reenactments. Don't have much interest in World War II but I am not entirely opposed to trying it out either.

I know there's a World War II reenactment group near where I live (I think they are a Russian-themed reenactment group) and while the era is not my first choice, I might try it out to get a first taste of reenacting. I'd imagine it'd be cheaper and easier to acquire authentic-looking clothing and equipment for World War II than it would be for the Civil War.

In other news, I just had dinner with some of my sibs tonight, and found out my brother has a hard time eating certain things. Turns out he belongs to the anti-fluoride camp, citing it's elimination of calcium in your teeth or whatever. He already had to go through getting several wisdoms removed but also still has cavities he not going to a dentist for. A little sad to find that out. I'm only a few years younger than him, yet I barely had one cavity filled a couple years ago.

EDIT: There's also news of someone wanting to bring in a gun tomorrow at the high school I went to, so hopefully my town won't end up on the news soon because someone had to be a dick.

2nd EDIT: Well they just closed the high school and junior highs for today, figures they have to be safe here than sorry.

3nd EDIT: Well they captured the 16 year old bitch who started that mess!

I refuse to comprehend my family's attitude towards money. Also, I need to learn to swear in Tagalog asap.
And no, this isn't shitposting.
