Anyone here good with Flash? Like, anyone actually artistic and can do Flash animations? I have an idea for a project but I'd need some help in that regard.
I never knew there were invasive species of trees until the other day when I saw this commercial for this tree cutter. See, I work the night shift and there's a TV in the break room and at 5 in the morning, they show The Farm Report, which is a news show for farmers about the price of wheat and shit like that. The commercials are all farming stuff, like fertilizers and animal feed, but there was a commercial for this thing you attach to an ATV that cuts down trees, namely invasive species. It's so damn cool, you're on your ATV, you run head on into a tree and it cuts it clean off. So fucking awesome. I wish I had 1) a farm 2) invasive species of trees and 3) an ATV just so I could get it and cut them down.

My brother and sister have both done flash animations, and they came out alright. I wish I could do it the old fashioned way, but that takes a lot of time and money. I've personally never owned flash before, but I have been dabbling in simple animations since I was 14. I was actually the first one in the family to work with animating, but I stopped when I was 17. I'm not a professional, but I get stuff done.champthom said:

I've been meaning to watch that. I've actually seen a silent movie in a theater, "Birth of a Nation" and they had a guy who played the organ since, well, the movie is silent. It's actually not a bad movie, it pioneered a bunch of cinematic techniques we use today, it's just REALLY racist.

I can't remember my first silent flick. I used to watch a ton of them. I saw Birth of a Nation under the recommendation of a US history teacher to gain perspective as to the mindsets of early 20th century white supremacists. Can't say it was a movie I agreed with... I remember The Jazz Singer being one of my favorite films, though. It was heart breaking, and it was revolutionary for its time, as it was the first movie to integrate sound with the picture. Also, I'm a fan of ragtime music, so yeah.

Had an alright day! My phone's flex ribbon snapped on Sunday. I may have lost all my contacts and pictures--but hey, the replacement came in this morning and now the old phone's being sent back so there are no charges! I'm getting along a bit further in that monster girl challenge, even if they are just sketches! Class is going great, and my teacher's recommending me to the department head; here's to hoping she has some advice about what I can do for future classes. My boyfriend's visiting this weekend, which is what I'm really looking forward to! All-in-all, I have too many reasons to feel lucky and good about myself than to sweat the small or petty stuff. I'm going to do things for myself and to enjoy them for my own sake! I just gotta remind myself of the great parts of my life more often, and I think things'll be fine.
