So I've been deep into old forum history, reading that the auto-correct on this site annoys some people. And while I get the frustration, it isn't that hard to bypass, and someone with a fairly up-to-standard vocabulary wouldn't encounter the problem very often, anyways. Null can't keep up with every variation of alternate text characters mixed in with the others, so it's just what's on a standard English keyboard. Meaning that you can say гetard whenever you please. It seems odd that some people fuss about it.

Today I came down with a headache and vomited once. Thankfully I got to the bathroom in time. Didn't eat anything all day so it probably helped. I'm just glad I didn't get this way tomorrow as I always get sick on Christmas. I suppose I can't take it anymore.

Enough of that, here's 45 minutes of the Yule Log from 1978!

Wishing you all a merry Christmas here at Kiwi Farms! We used to listen to this record every Christmas until my parents record player died a few years back. It's one of my fondest Christmas memories. Now we just listen to it on Spotify.

Thunk-provoking question:

When British people try to do American accents, they always tend to sound like a weird Texas accent. That's a consistent thing I've noticed.

When Americans try to do British accents, what part of the UK do we sound like we're from?

I sometimes wonder what American accents sound like in foreign languages.

The gas company is installing new gas lines all throughout the city. Some of these lines are over 100 years old so I guess it's a good thing that they are being replaced. But the construction never seems to end. They already dug a huge trench out front in the summer and had to come in and turn the gas off while they installed something in the basement. Now they are back digging up the street. There's a ton of construction going on in adjacent blocks. There are machines outside tearing up the street and the entire house is shaking. This house is over 100 years old. I kinda fear the stability. Although maybe these old places are better built.

This is an old neighborhood and some of the streets are still brick. There are many brick and slate sidewalks left too. A lot of the curbs are still slate even where they put in cement sidewalk. Although I hate the brick and slate when it rains I kinda feel bad that some of it will be ripped up after sitting there for so long. If you go around the corner half the block is still slate. I never thought much of it as a kid because seeing slate and brick sidewalks were just normal to me. But when I moved away to an area that was constructed more recently I learned to apprecate the historical areas a bit more.

Can't say I like being back here. But I do like looking at the old houses.

I just wish the gas company would finish up already. There's a hole the size of a swimming pool out front.

And it looks like no one bothered to move their cars because you kept hearing guys on megaphones all morning long warning that people's cars were about to be towed. There's signs everywhere that you need to move your damn car. They've been up for a week and by now you should know the drill anyway.

Reminds me of my area. The water pipes have been replaced recently so the streets have been torn up and re-patched haphazardly. It's such a pain but in the long run it would probably save them the trouble of a water main breaking one winter.

TIL my parents WiFi still has Virgin Media’s fucking garbage opt out child filter activated. It doesn’t even filter most shit since I can still browse edgy/NSFW content here and/or on Reddit but it filters archive.is and a couple of its mirrors and the really mainstream NSFW sites. It’s retarded as hell since my sister is 18 now so it has no reason to be there but at the same time my parents will probably make fun of me if I ask them to remove it. For fuck’s sake.

I'm continuing my Angry Video Game Nerd marathon tonight. Just finished watching his Sonic 06 vids:

It's amazing how for as long as he's been doing this, James is still as good (if not better) as when he first started making videos.
