The General Thread

The way I've been living this year that $600 will go pretty far, I'm the anti dsp.
I had to joyfully flush my fucking eyes with water after opening my front door because my neighbor has been pouring straight, undiluted Fabulouso straight into the hallway carpet several times a week, sometimes 2x daily. I'm just taking what shit I need and renting some flophouse room and never looking back.
Let em fucking sue me.

I remembered something really sweet and it just warmed me up all day today:

I used to work with a really old lady, she hated me at first. It didn't take long for us to become really good friends. As a gift, she wrote in a whole spiral notebook a BUNCH of recipes she made. She went above and beyond, too. Every category like desserts, dinners, drinks, lunches, and breakfasts, were all labeled with tabs. It meant so much to me because she has trouble with her hands, and can't write without shaking.

Shit like that means so much.

So I saw an attempted carjacking today. Or some kind of tnb.
A Woman of Melanin(c) taps somebody else's bumper at the stoplight. A passenger steps out and demands the driver fight her, because she's a white bitch. Then she starts yelling "you gon give me your car, bitch!" over and over.
The light turns green, the would be victim speeds off and our Nubian Princess squeezes her ample frame back into the passenger seat and they leave.
I was left with no doubt that blacks can achieve a decisive military victory over the white population and establish permanent reparations for generations of future rappers to come.
This kind of cunning is terrifying, my honky brain cannot even conceive of a battleplan like this.

I built my mom and her boyfriend a bird feeder looking like a little skiing hut. It's cute as fuck I admit.

I'm posting this from my new computer! I don't have a desk but I put the computer next to my TV on the dresser and managed to shuffle the TV back just enough to fit my keyboard and mouse alongside it. Not exactly the most ergonomic arrangement, but my dad gave me his old office chair so it's not the worst I guess? I have yet to try and play vidya like this though - this is a Dell Inspiron prebuilt so it's all professional and office-y and will therefore need some minor upgrades to be able to run recent games in the form of an actual GPU and probably an extra stick of RAM too. The i5 in here is actually pretty decent, which is to be expected since my Dad used to work in tech so even though he's retired now he's not a complete boomer when it comes to this sort of thing, he's just more used to the tech needs of a businessperson as opposed to the needs of an EPIC GAMER(tm).

I also should probably get rid of all the bloatware that Dell left on here...

Go to Windows Recovery and do a full reinstall, there's an option there that'll download the latest version of Windows 10 which won't contain any third-party bloatware.

Only took me about 4 hours and all sorts of wacky patches and programs and dll files but I finally got The Sims up and running at 4K...kinda.
The neighbourhood and CAS screens are still postage stamp sized though. Problem is running this game at anything other than 4K breaks either the UI, the sound or sometimes both and I do not understand the sorcery at work there at all. I think I’m gonna keep it at this resolution and pray that the framerate improves when I eventually put a proper GPU in here. Luckily you don’t exactly need the highest framerate in the world for this game.

I’m gonna download and install Sims 2 next, should be a walk in the park compared to this mess.

Whoever designed Webtorrent is officially a retard.

Brave was using 95% of my RAM and I figured out its because Webtorrent downloads torrents into the RAM and then unloads them into your storage when its done,
but that means if you try to torrent something bigger than the contents of your RAM it just fucking dies. Luckily I have 8GB of RAM and the Sims 2 torrent was only like 7.5GB.

I'm off to install qbittorrent and deactivate this shit torrent downloader.

So that's what it does. I just figured out pretty quickly its performance was absolute shit and turned it off. Worst torrent software ever.

The tugboats hit last night and the stimulus is getting rushed, I fully expect there to be a lot of cracked out motherfuckers this week.

So back in February, I purchased a Lil Bub calendar, since I needed a calendar and enjoy her youtube videos. As cheesy as it may sound, with everything that has gone on this past year, such as losing my job around when the pandemic first hit, that calendar always brought a smile to my face, much like her videos always did. I'm replacing it tomorrow, but I'm still going to keep it, because I just can't bear to throw it away.

Godspeed, Lil Bub. Can't believe it's already been over a year since you passed.
