So I can't tell if I have bad allergies or a slight cold right now. I had my flu shot at least a week ago, so it can't be that. I have clear post-nasal drip, sore throat/inner ears, slight headache. Antihistamines aren't really doing anything. Maybe I should just take a shot of vodka and swish it around my mouth to kill any bad microbes on my tonsils. Alcohol does kill bacteria/viruses on contact, right??

I'm sure that drinking lots of hot water would be better. Tea, maybe? At least it would be tastier.

Hot water, lemon, clear honey and a shot of any honey/whisky combo like Honey JD or Honey Jim Beam, seriously it's a miracle cure.

I have such a fucking toothache. (I'd rather have a migraine, it hurts so bad) I went to the dentist earlier today and I have not one, but two infected teeth that need to come out. My cheek is swollen, and I have a couple of teeth that broke off (molars, not ones that can be seen) that also have to come out. (No, I don't look like Sick Nick. Yes, I take care of my teeth. I'm poor and have no insurance). I have an appointment tomorrow to get all that done.

Now I'm waiting for my dad to come home with my pain meds.

Had to get rid of about 50 CRTs at work last year. The skip was in the loading bay, the CRT's were stored on a pallet on the second mezzanine level above. Boy do those things go fuckin' BOOM when they hit the bottom of the skip.

I'd say it's tragic that perfectly functional things are being destroyed like that.

But you literally have to pay to dispose of those things these days. Most people won't even take them for free.

I'm nearly 40 and I've never had any of this at all. Managed to be lucky I guess (or too much flouride in the water).

Yea don't be sad, these functioned about as well as Chris. They'd been displaying the same mostly static image (data readouts from software flash prommers) for five solid years and they were somewhat burnt-in.

The only people I know who collect CRTs unironically are my brother and his friends. They are professional Smash Brothers Melee players. If they used newer TVs to play the games then the screens would lag on them, and that would affect their Smash playing performance.

I'm sure they come in handy for the "retro gamer" crowd a lot.

Well, according to a news article I discovered today, the particular Midwestern US city I live in is having a decreased rate of people with college degrees. I can attest to this, since I see on my Facebook newsfeed that many of the people I went to highschool with are having babies as fast as they can, and are just content to be housewives. I, on the other hand, don't give a crap about romantic relationships and getting hitched/pregnant as fast as possible. My autism does make it quite difficult to flirt/be romantic/read social cues anyway. Whatever, I'm happy being single, college-educated, and career-orientated. But I feel like such an anomaly when it seems like everyone else in my bumfuck state are becoming housewives by the time they are 25 years old.

We do live in such a fractured society.

That same article mentioned that people in my city are having the lowest incomes in 30 years, alongside being less college educated. So less college education means lower incomes? But doesn't college make people poor anyway by making them pay for student loans and fuckspensive textbooks? Oh the dilemma...

Oh and in other news I've realized that I'm fond of Tibetan Buddhist culture. I now have both Tibetan wind chimes as well as Tibetan prayer flags blowing around in the wind outside. Indoors I have a singing bowl and a wooden fish. I hypothesize that my visit to a Buddhist temple in Beijing years ago has caused this.

Face it, the Industrial Revolution is over in this country. I have been tickling thoughts of one day moving to an EU country myself (I'm thinking Finland, it seems reasonable enough).
