The Ghostbusters Thread (Old, New, Animated, Whatever)

I hate women in movies, only men should be allowed on film.
and before you ask, Yes, Especially on porn.

Somehow this movie looks more cartoonish than the original cartoon.
Which I don't know is good or bad. I only know that the black chick certainly is not good and just one bucket of KFC away from being a stereotype.
Congrats, Hollywood. You tried to make the Ghostbusters relevant for feminists. And at the same time created probably one of the most racist characters of 2016.

And as a bit of an unpopular opinion: I think Ghostbusters is a well made humorous action movie with an awesome cast, clever writing and awesome effects. It is not a good comedy though.

It comes across as a parody to me, a very bad one.

you know the cartoon isn't original right?

Yeah, I am fully aware of the story of the GB franchise. I know the live action movie was first. I also know why the cartoon based on it had "The real Ghostbusters" in it, thanks to the magic of wikipedia. What I meant was just that thanks to the CGI ghosts and the way the actors look, they rather seems as if they belong in the cartoon. Or as if someone tried to do a live action movie based on the cartoon.

Anyway, this is a thing, moviebob already goes nuts over it (not in the feministic way), so do others, I think this shit may at worst still be hilariously bad. 2016 seems to become a fantastic year for movies so bad they may be funny

Also, Filmation Ghostbusters taught us all about the importance of saying no to drugs by assaulting drug dealers, so they're alright in my book.

The show is more fun to watch with at least one other person and you don't take it seriously. We were all joking about the humans in the cast being gay and playing "guess the fetishes". I admit, there were a few good character designs. (Haunter being one of my favorites.)

I've also been hearing some SJW complaints about the film about not making the black character a scientist as well. I know she's trying to fill the Winston role as the more down-to-earth, streetwise character whose own unique insights can be just as helpful. Truth was, that was my favorite thing about Winston.

The world's smartest, at that.

Also, I'm one of those fegs who thought the idea of a female Ghostbusters team actually looked alright on paper (because it's been a long time since the last movie and why the hell not). It's just that something like that would need writing that isn't shit, Aykroyd/Murray/Hudson in at least supporting roles, actually being funny and moving the lore (for lack of a better term) forward. And most importantly, to not be so fucking proud of itself that it's an all-female Ghostbusters team.

It could also work if Peter decided to make the Ghostbusters a franchise and branched it out to other cities (where this all-female team comes from). That way they can have their own identity.

Just took a look at the trailer, and now I know why I'm going to hate this movie. Not because of the all female cast (which could have worked, emphasis on the "Could have" part). But because of what it really is- a shitty, unfunny cash grab that easily could have been made by Happy Madison. About the only part that almost got a chuckle out of me is the "Power of pain compels you!" part. That's it. Everything else about the trailer looks stupid and the CGI looks like it's on the level of R.I.P.D. (Points to those who even know about that movie).

Also, I'd be lying if I didn't say I liked some of the designs of the Filmation series and Extreme ghosts more than I did the DiC series or films.
