The Ghostbusters Thread (Old, New, Animated, Whatever)

Mr. Judging Before Seeing was mad because people were judging before seeing."
There is a difference between watching a trailer for a movie, something which is designed to give you a feel of the film's quality and content so you can decide whether you spend your money on it and going "Eh, not for me" and releasing a video making a statement which is readily available to anyone with internet and therefore a complete product and having people make prejudgments about what you're going to say without watching it. The fact a New York Times writer doesn't realise this... is not surprising to me.

Again... this is all for a film that all signs points to sucking shit. Not because of the women, but because it's a lazy rehash of the other two movies that recycles the same jokes, incorporates shit I'd see from the Wayan Brothers or the morons who did the _____ Movies, violent punching for dumb action shlock, and has really dated looking special effects.

None of what I describe has anything to do with the cast.

Why are they so hell bent on defending this shit pile? Why are they still THIS confident that stronk womyn make a viable consumer base in any regard; you're basically throwing money into a black hole at that point.
It's the mentality of the SJW. They'll defend anything that has the "STRNG INDIPENDANT WIMMINZ" trope in play. Even if the production's going to be shit.

And on the other coin, you've got the obsessive haters going "THIS FRANCHISE IS RUINED!" or stuff along those lines. It's a lose-lose regardless of extremes. And by the end of it all, it'll be a prime example of both- a terrible remake, and an ugly case of internet backlash.

Oh no, no, no, no, NO. WHY. :c

To give you some background: we are in the middle of the UEFA Euro 2016, so every ad is gonna be football related. That's Andrés Iniesta, the hero of the 2010 World Cup final match. Yes, he looks like he's death. But at least you're not hearing him talk. Don't thank me:

To say something good about him... he's a great player and at least he's not involved in any sexual assault case. For now.

No no, that's what I mean; money is essentially EVERYTHING in Hollywood. That being said, what do you think is the precise logic going on with the people who greenlit this garbage pile; I mean to say this in the same way we've seen done with comic books or video games: Why spurn and alienate the very real number of people already invested in your product for the money you THINK you're going to get out of a much smaller audience, most of which are jobless, college-age nobodies. Principles or beliefs don't play a part here, everything said and done is with profit in mind.

That's just it, ultimately it comes to a factor of whether or not this thing makes its budget back. The problem is that with the SJW methodology, money means nothing- It's all about the wiminz.

Studio execs are probably banking in on the backlash/feminism and don't give a shit about the people they're catering to. I don't plan on seeing the film, however I won't be surprised if those people are going to see it. Because that's only prove your point, and the detractors will find a way to blame everyone but the studio. And when that happens, I'll get the popcorn ready.

It'll never bank, that's what's so funny; it'll make worse than opening week at an Adam Sandler flick and any idiot can see that. I'll bring the butter.

Eh, I can see enough retards hatewatching it due to brand labeling. And because the visuals look so cheap, they probably will make their money when it goes international.

It's just going to be a horrible shitshow of a film, and the best part is it actually is pretty racist since they made Jemima the "Mammy" of the group, at one point slipping into ebonics in the face of g-ghostses.

I don't think any hatewatchers will actually fork over money to watch it in theatres. They will just torrent the first cam that pops up and watch that.

At least with this movie you don't have to worry about people walking in front of the movie screen. It does have a Jem and the Holograms and Ishtar feel to it.
