I'm mostly seeing people going "it's alright" but is there anyone else that thinks the Monsterverse is pure dogshit?

Honestly I'll just stick to Minus One and those fan animations, even the sticknode ones are more entertaining to me...wonder if that's just nostalgia talking. The MMD ones that one team makes is also good.

Toho whining about pirates torrenting minus one when they choked distribution to only japan. It's like they wanted this to happen. In bugerland it made a shitload of money, so making us wait God knows how long for a barebones release [that I'm betting won't include minus color] is a bad business plan.
Japanese companies are so fucking stupid. If you don't want your shit pirated, THEN FUCKING RELEASE IT OUTSIDE OF JAPAN YOU STUPID BASTARDS.
The ONLY japanese company not ran by retards is Tsuburaya, the people behind Ultraman.

Just here to say that Godzilla Minus One is a damned masterpiece. I seriously believe it is the greatest Godzilla movie of all time, it's my favorite movie of the decade so far, and it's solidified itself as one of my all-time favorite movies period. The Minus Color version was fantastic to see in theaters as well, and I want to own both versions of the movie on physical media ASAP. Shut up and take my money, Goji.

And I saw Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. It was pure Showa Era fun and I had a great time at the movie theater watching it. It is one of the lesser entries of the MonsterVerse for me though. Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island are still easily my favorites of the MonsterVerse.

There's some snobs out there who want to compare the MonsterVerse to the Michael Bay Transformers movies ... To which I will happily say, "Shut the fuck up." Until one of these movies showcases a Titan with a gigantic ballsack and has stupid jokes about pot brownies among the humans, I want people to pipe down with that noise. The MonsterVerse is essentially what the Bayformers movies could have been if they weren't insufferable, annoying, and headache-inducing.

Just got done watching Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and.......I can't hate it at the same it's absolutely the weakest entry in the American series and I won't be watching it again anytime soon.
The pace was way too fast, there was no breathing room at all. None of the characters really seemed to matter and the only one I even gave an ounce of a shit about was Jia.
At this point ten years out. I wish they would've kept the semiserious/realistic/ aspect of the 2014 movie. It may not have worked as well with multiple monsters but good God there was no weight to any of the fights, although the fights did look pretty cool. Someone else mentioned this but the size scales were also way off especially in the hollow earth.
I did like Kong using Suko as a club that was pretty funny.
Mothra returning and not getting one shotted a minute later was a nice touch.
Kong's expressions were on point and really enjoyed what they did with him.
This should've been a Kong movie instead.
Please give the series a rest for a while.

Welp there ya have it, glad I didn't spend money on this, Minus One was worth every penny though.

Just saw G X K. I thought it was okay, but the last movies were better. I liked that there was basically no dialogue and it was mostly monsters fighting, thats all I want from a goofy kaiju movie, maybe some alien race next time brings down Gigan, they can talk.

The soundtrack was ass though, a huge downgrade since KotM.

That's because they're nationalists. They want to make movies for their own people and don't want to associate with the West as much anymore. I mean just look recently that they're starting to ban tourists from entering certain regions of the country due to it diluting the culture and yet they don't want to address their declining birth rates which are now just accelerating due to their Hickey gomori work culture.

It's the same reason why as much as there is a demand with dragon Ball in the West (both North and Latin America) they'll try to do as little as they can since they don't want to appeal to an outside audience even though that would rake in a lot more money than trying to cater to their own people which are long pass the franchise by now.

Asians are both competitive and prejudice people to the outside world. As for Americans we don't care about our culture and will let any melting pot of people in and we are forced to change how we are represented in the world stage.

If Minus One wasn't released in the US to begin with and Japan hoarded it, then I'd agree with you.
But over HALF of the total ticket sales came from the US. Forget Nationalism, its just good business to explore routes that were successful in the past. Its practically leaving money on the table by ignoring US fans, and that is what is causing the spike in piracy. If it was released in the US on blu-ray and streaming by now sure SOME would still pirate the movie, but Toho is practically encouraging piracy by telling the US "Thanks for the support, now fuck off"
Nationalism or not this was a gigantic fuck up on their part, and a lot of the good will Toho garnered was wasted. All because they acted like retards.
