What I've noticed with the trans people I meet in real life is that they are just so exceptionally fragile. Words are not violence, and it's hard for me to understand people who think they are. I'm part of an extracurricular org that welcomes anyone who can a) sing in the female range and b) identifies as a woman or "woman-adjacent," whatever that means. Unsurprisingly, all of the 100+ people present are actual women; I suspect the number of TiMs who can sing in the female range is not large. But of course this means we have some TiFs, including one who just gave us a speech last rehearsal about how hurtful it is to her when people don't immediately recognize that she's had this ~HugE GenDeR iDenTitY jOurNey~ just by looking at her.

She gave us a 10-min lecture this past Sunday on how "painful and violent" it is when people "assume" she's a woman because "she's AFAB and enjoys presenting in a female-type manner", and I just don't get it. I feel for her and her mental issues, but I can't really sympathize with them. Yes, of course I will call her they/them in person because I am polite in person, but I'll also try not to interact with her much. If a person thinks any realistic third-person description of them is genocide/violence, I just can't take them seriously. When you view words as violence, that's an invitation for people to just not engage with you, because you are clearly delusional. Would I find it weird if someone persistently misgendered me as a male (or called me a Nazi for occasionally posting here, lol) to try to make a point ? Yes, but it would have no effect on my real life because I know it's not true. But a lot of trans people are just so fragile and require everyone to use specified terms for them even if they aren't present because they know their perception is not based in reality, so affirmation is all they have. And I honestly feel bad for people who are so fragile that they have to dictate how they are talked about when they aren't around.

Its a self fixing problem even on twitter things like LBGwithouttheT is trending more often because a lot of gay people and lesbians are tired of having to deal with the crazy troons. Any time you start a movement that is very inclusive and only exist in an echo chamber that ruins peoples lives just for asking questions will implode.

To anyone that wants to start some sort of social/political movement maybe dont scream and yell at people that are on your side. Also dont move the goalposts to positions that are crazy like involving kids in life changing things look at the Occupy Wallstreet movement the minute it gained steam they moved to straight up communism and all of a sudden it ended.

If you (rhetorical you, not OP you) are honestly so fragile that being recognized as male causes psychological anguish and suicidal ideation, why would you regularly stick yourself in situations where you would obviously be clocked?

The most likely explanation I can find is that a significant number of TIMs have a "sissy" humiliation fetish and get from the negative attention. And an even more significant number of TIMs have domination fetishes and get off on the discomfort their presence produces.

There's a few others I'm most likely forgetting, like a few users here, but it's early, I just woke up, and my brain isn't completely turned on.

In fact I worked with a troon that could be described this way. I won't go into all that right now (some interesting stories though), but I will say I was his friend, kinda, and even helped him out some when he was transing (I'm a former hairdresser and helped him with his hair - actually weaves - because he was partly bald)... now he was OKAY, and this was the late '90s so I was a long way off peaking. I gave him all the indulgence I could manage. Today, I wouldn't go near that shit.

But to keep it short, I'll tell you what sort of ended the friendship... he was basically gay but as a 35yo balding troon he wasn't gonna be trap material (he sort of looked like Commie Dick Gurl with better wigs - thanks to me! - and a modicum of dress sense), and eventually he got together with another troon. And this troon was ONE OF THEM. Completely AGP and in yer face. They were shacked up in no time. And whereas I once hadn't minded having a few drinks with him, that creep was suddenly always there, seething and looking for issues, and I couldn't fucking stomach him.

Yeah, so we drifted apart. And that was my first step towards peaking. That was probably about 2006 or 7.

And yeah like troons of today she did spend most of her life after transitioning as a speaker for trans rights before there was even a civil rights movement in the states but she was pretty chill about it, even was known to crack a joke or two or add witty humor to her speeches.

Later she switched professions and became a nightclub performer/stand up comedian entertaining guests in NY for a few good decades before retiring in the 80s. Died of cancer in 89.

Few close NB friends IRL and they're very sound. Only one can be a bit ridiculous (complaining that a barman called us "ladies" when their appearance is 100% female-coded etc) but, unsurprisingly, they are autistic and are one of the most solid mates you could ever ask for so a bit of sperging is easy to brush off and they weren't an ass to the actual barman who originally offended or anything. They tolerate me being a bit TERFy and I try to offer the same respect back. It's rare to have mates that can disagree on a topic that we both find emotive and still give each other the opportunity to put forth our beliefs.

One close acquaintance is an older TIM who always respected the female bathroom as for women, and insists that being trans is "the least interesting thing about me". I genuinely enjoy running into them out and about.

Guess I've been lucky that most IRL trans people I know have been no Yaniv. I also think some of them have been insulated in a woke bubble and are a bit naive in a "never happens!" kind of a way. I blame journos and big tech more for that. Plus the weird way everything gets divided into left v right these days.

Still hold out hope that I can get the more naive ones to see what's happening though. It's hard to stay calm when things like the safety of children is at stake.

I genuinely do not understand how people can still give them the benefit of the doubt. The criteria for being "one of the good ones" really seems to just boil down to practicing basic hygiene and not openly advocating for paedophilia. I was watching the news the other day and Fiona Hill was interviewed for a segment. Reguardless anyone's take on politics here she seemed well spoken and a natural female voice.
