I didn't look into the husband nearly at all so I don't have an opinion on the claims about him.
Regarding other things:
"I had to help his husband weigh the options the embassy gave him for dealing with Dave’s remains while having no money"
While this may not be something you think of embassies doing, embassies help US citizens when they have problems in foreign countries, so if they were in fact still married, Byuu is still a US citizen so the only suspect thing about this claim to me is "
I had to help".
Usually you need to reach out to the embassy for help though, so I'd bet "I had to help" was telling Byuu's husband to contact the embassy and there may have been a conversation after the husband did where options were mentioned, but I doubt serious discussion of the options occurred with this random stranger from the internet.
The husband had "no chance at using Dave’s accounts in Japan until after going through probate"
I can believe this if they had separate US bank accounts, the probate would be in the USA since Byuu is a US citizen, and lacking a will, the accounts would transfer to the husband. I question whether Byuu would have Japanese bank accounts though, but even if he did, I suspect they would still be subject to US probate in much the same way, but more complicated because Japanese account.
Byuu paid cash to have his balls removed by a back-alley cutter, back before he ditched his husband
The statement is that he had a doctor do it "after hours" so technically it's not quite back alley, and I have seen enough about plastic surgery horrors to know that not all doctors are scrupulous. I can believe that set of circumstances only
assuming the husband is in fact the source for that surgery happening, and that the husband is trustworthy.
In Japan Byuu was getting black-market hormones and drugs from "random people online"
I can believe it. Pill sheets aren't the hardest thing to smuggle and it seems like in basically every country trannies set up an undergroom railroad so they can ruin their lives without government interference.

The statement I'm most interested in though is this,
as I realized re-reading the archive that I'm a dumbass for forgetting that Sobodash also dragged Null into this:
"Null said the same thing when I attempted to contact him the week after Dave’s death when I had been in contact with the family. I offered him photos of Dave and his husband at my wedding as evidence that I’m probably the only person online who actually knows them both."
The way this whole thing went down initially, I absolutely believe Null's supposed reaction described by Sobodash, so the only question that remains is if the emails are still hanging out somewhere or if Null even remembers this now.
If such an exchange never happened, that shoots a massive hole in Sobodash's credibility and informs the reading of everything else he says about this.
@Null do you happen to remember these emails with Sobodash, or better yet, still have them?
