I'm probably going to mod it so that user privacy is a permission that I can disable on lolcow accounts, which was part of the reason it was broken deliberately to begin with.
So when you're done, do I just send a TTS for specific banned cows?

If posted, you can get the context of a ban from a banned user's profile comments. If it's practical, there should be an explanation, an indicator other than red strikethroughs, etc., or otherwise comments allowed for X time until the lock.
Null does not post ban reasons on people's profiles on purpose, I think it's to discourage socking? I don't remember exactly, but that's how Null wants the site to work. I do agree that ban reasons would be better then asking and hoping for an answer in a supporter thread or @'ing a mod, as that happens with most users anyways. Even simple 1 word replies like "sock" or "retard" would be fine.

I get wanting to offer perks but shitting up the features is a bit much. Could they be placed into a tab to allow for easier viewing?

Just envisioning a whole page of features highlighting nothing but slurs. While amusing it would grat after a while.
I am going to changed both the widget and the featured page so by default it displays both, but has tabs to filter them. However it will be very obvious which are user features. I am hoping that the short feature duration and 30 days in between features that they aren't so insufferable. I expect that on day one that people will feature absolute garbage to be funny, but after a while it will mellow out. I can always change it to be something like twice a month for 6 hours or something instead.

I think either one word indicators or color coded strikethroughs would be a good compromise. You get the gist, but not the whole context if sockpuppeting or something like that is a concern.

The ability of this forum to operate on multiple layers of irony is so much a part of its charm. To survive and pay for the existence of a website in the 21st century, we are literally going to use 19th century payment processors. The fucking telegram. What's funny is the evil bastards trying to blackball the website never considered the fact that these ancient methods of moving money around still exist. It never even occurred to me either, despite the fact that I have a rather big interest in financial history. The idea that you can tether an automatic payment to a website to order the production of a physical check, that checks physical delivery to an end user, and then an order for another electrical signal to change the banking ledger is an amazing example of archeaotech. Probably something that only exists because banks are still legally required to do business this way because Congress never got around to amending or repealing centuries old laws.

Amazing.

This sounds extremely funny and I cant wait to see what utter gutter trash surfaces to the top as a result
Also isn't profile privacy the very thing that has been annoying you in terms of twitter? I notice alot of the time on mati you bring up twitter lolcows such as tomlinson and you have to shuffle around to find an account that isnt blocked (tho I think even they have removed that as a feature) so why would you want such a thing here?
It really does seem like it'll be entertaining.

Go to your real-world bank account and set up a bill pay to send a $40 check to our PO Box. It will ask you for an account number; you supply your billpay id.
Is $40 the minimum payment you can process with this system? $40 is pretty steep for the average user for a monthly subscription. Do you plan on having lower price tiers like $10-$20? Or are you wanting to have a pseudo limit on the amount of people subscribed via this bill pay?
