If you want to change the American government, and you are American, then you can do it with you head and through politics. I fail to see how stockpiling assault weaponry is going to make the government less corrupt.

I never claimed to be for or against Russia or Ukraine. I do, however, recognize that both countries are run by corrupt oligarchs and associated shitheads.

Say what you want about Putin fans but Ukie cheerleaders really aren't much better. Probably didn't even know the country existed until recently. Also Zelensky's a genius when it comes to grifting the west for free cash and weapons. But that's a different subject altogether.

Also, people who want guns banned should leave the US because it's just not going to happen. Go start your own country.

The weapons (like the Javelin) were always meant for a war against Russia in the German forests. Blowing up Ruskie armor is what they were created for, and they are excelling.

Perhaps you were not paying attention in 2014 when the Pro-Russian government opened fire on the Euromaidan protesters killing 100 civilians. I also remember exactly where I was when the MH17 got shot down and Russia killed 300 people. It was fucking shocking. So your "It's all the same shit government" either means you are biased or haven't kept up with the facts.

Also, Ukies should be the most based nation to pro-gunners. I can't see why they are not. Hypocrites.

There's nothing based about supporting the current thing just because the TV people tell you to support the current thing.

The only reason anyone in the US government gives a shit about Ukraine is because they'll lose a place to do shady business, but this is the gun control debate thread, not the corrupt Eastern European shithole thread.

But you can't even define an "assault weapon" any more than the DNC can define a "woman" so the jury is still out on that.

You're on the wrong thread, mate. Nobody here cares about Ukraine.

Also the Javelin was designed as an all-purpose system to defeat any ERA-equipped tanks, buildings, and as a direct counter to helicopters (they even redesigned the CLU to fit Stinger missiles to give it further multi-role capabilities). While the Soviets certainly loved their ERA, the missile was always meant for a wider military role than just shooting outdated Russian tanks in German forests.

And the Ukrainians aren't using them to take out tanks, they're primarily using British NLAWs to take out ground vehicles, because the Javelin is more useful against Russian helicopters and UAVs. The Ukrainians only shot like 120 Javelins in the first month of the war. And it's an artillery war now anyway, with both sides firing 5 or 6 thousand rounds per day, they hardly need more missiles at this point. They got like 60,000 anti-tank missiles in the first month.

People get screwed by the government, be they black, white, asian, alien or Alex Jones. This is fundamental truth because power always seeks to protect itself.

I hope you end up in the killing fields in Cambodia, or any "cleansing" in a country, be it ethnic or ideological like my family. Maybe then you'll understand why civilians need weapons.

hardly. it's an illusion that the government is doing something. the dems know it won't pass in the senate, but they know they can introduce it so their constituents can go "oh wow the dems are sure sticking it to those gun nuts!" while not actually having to do anything at all.

if you think i'm pro-gun, i'm not. but i recognize that the sheer proliferation of guns in the united states would make it virtually impossible to get rid of them. gun control would be nice, but it never seems like it's enforced. seems like mass shooters obtain the guns legally, or their parents legally purchased the gun and they stole it. point being, guns and gun control are a contentious issue that is too nuanced to even bother arguing about with people whose opinion will not change.

Oh, btw, here's something to make you mad. Restraining order was granted against Colorado forbiding them from enforcing their "assault weapon" ban

Legally, that's easier to defend. Lower courts (including the cucked 9th) have held that you must have SOME kind of carry under DC v Heller, and under the new historicity standard you could argue that this is in line with old brandishing laws. We'll have to see how it plays out and what arguments are made.
This is likely as bad as a liberal court can rule and not openly be at odds with the new standard under the SCOTUS ruling.
