We have a new product we’re working on that the Executive class is getting antsy about. They wanted it finished and shipping about 3 days after approval was given to start the project.
My level is doing the testing of the prototype before it’s approved for production. This means the engineers have given their approval, all of their shit is done, I effectively am given what will be produced and told to try and break it.
Well the idiots who spend all of their time in meetings, and think AI is super cool because they can use it to spew out corporatese emails in bulk, keep badgering me and my manager just above me into starting testing. Basically:
Execs: Can you start testing now?
Me & My boss: No. we need the final version of hardware, and a finalized version of firmware to start testing. Engineering hasn’t finished either.
Execs: But if you had that you could start testing.
Me: Well, sure, because I’d have the hardware and software I need.
Execs: So you can start testing now?
Me: NO
