Painter, carpenter or mechanic? As long as a non-Indian can vouch for them personally then I'd think about it. Plumber? No, India needs more plumbers.

If you can speak fluent English and know how to reboot a computer, you're better than 90% of H-1B programmers.

Having been both to India and China in 2025, what strikes me as the biggest difference as a european is that rich areas in China are basically spotless and remind you of Japan.
Rich areas in India will have a new skyscraper and next to it a cow roaming around eating garbage while a starving 3 year old begs you to buy a flower from them.

I cant remember the last time Ive seen a white or black owned gas station. I now have to pony up for expensive corporate owned chain hotels and gas stations so I dont get food poisoning or bedbugs. It must be hard coming from a culture where you're favored for having the lightest skin possible (which is a lot of them due to various reasons one main one being it's association with class) but even the lightest are brown and discovering there are an entire race of people that completely mog you in this department.
