The Internet Archive has excluded Kiwi Farms from its searches.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.

This should be a wakeup call for everyone to not archive everything at a single point of failure, and to run your own archive if you have the means to do so.

Does this mean archive.org will not show users kiwfarms archives anymore?
Or does it mean they still store the data, but due to present policies will not show said information?

edit: I can still archive a random KF page using archive.org, waiting for it to finish
edit2: I get random errors while trying to archive (maybe just because site is unreliable in general)

So to clarify and counter the misinformation (heh) that's going around:
1)Archive.org will always have KF's data there, it just won't be accessible to outside users. This is helpful for lawsuits apparently.
2)Anything that's archived that's not from a kiwifarms site will not be affected. Archiving a tweet or a page from another website is hard to police.
3)Null already said that if anything happens, and the site has to go down, he's scribbing user data and releasing the forum data as a torrent. So what's on here will ALWAYS live on the internet, doxes and all.

Thanks for the answer, but I'm still unclear on whether new pages can be archived or not after this decision?

The distinction is in whether they may change their policy later on and future archives may become accessible.
