I am working on this but because of time constraints i have in my personal life idk if I'll be able to finish it before abandoning it, I am working on a commentary community thread re-write, many things have happened in the 3 years since the last thread update, many new personalities have been added and some of them are gone (like augie) or basically dead (john swan) that are mentioned in the original thread, it hasn't been updated since 2021.

Some of these personalities I am working for an update/mini thread on are:

Lerix, Acheeto, Chud Logic, Nick DeOrio (Update), Bowblax, Exate, Smaggledabble.

I think it shouldn't be just "older" threads considered for rewrites. Even newer thread OPs that are messy, the person who posted it was banned or went inactive, or any other solid reason for needing a rewrite.

I've liked this trend of people volunteering to rewrite OPs because almost all of them have been immaculate. I would love to see that kind of quality standards being spread across the site.

Definitely. I just think it's these older OPs that are currently in the most dire need of a rewrite because for a lot of newer ones, a higher standard for what an OP should be had already been established by the time they were written. I also think part of the motivation for a thread getting a revamp depends on the current relevance of the cow/subject. If you can think of any newer OPs you feel need a rewrite, list them here for consideration.

Sign me up for Raven Sparks and Alex Jahans

If anybody wants to help I also want to do ADF, Coach Red Pill, and Ethan Ralph (I was already planning to DM a few early sekutrites but now if there is an openly collaboration thread, I already read through most of the original OP)

Just going to let you know though, I'm not a powerful writer, I just know how to do a ton of research but all my OPs force me to write due to wanting to be a one man person, so if you are willing to write the OP and give me credit for research, we can make something happen.

I wonder who is going to do the Vordrak OP

Researching any other thread to re-write an OP would take even more time than the dozens of hours I put into those threads, and I have much less free time to dedicate to the Farms than I did back then. Researching and re-writing new OPs on my own is something that I don't have time to do.
To add onto this: I just came off finishing the Pamperchu OP rewrite a few days ago. I agree with Spunt that actually writing the OP was the easy part. The hardest part was probably the research since Pamps was a cow I was only vaguely familiar with at the time, and there was a lot of information to go through. I think it's reasonable to say I spent four times as much time researching than I did on writing.

Just to give a general idea of the work that went into it, here's a rough timeline of events:
- I made a group DM with a few Kiwis who were active in the thread and asked them for important videos/posts.
- I then went through the entire Pamperchu thread by hand, picking out relevant posts for later. I basically started copy/pasting links that looked like things I might be able to use later and writing small notes for each one.

- I went through these links a second time, dragging them around to spin them into a coherent narrative.
- I DM'd a few Kiwis to proofread it for me and got a few really good suggestions.
- Finally, I posted the OP into Prosperous Grounds and got a few more suggestions and tweaks.

Admittedly, I'm not entirely sure what the optimal way to turn OPs into a group effort would entail. Not to sound like I'm bragging, but ultimately 95% of the work was on me to make that OP happen. Would we designate certain people to research and another to write? I just don't know the ideal way to divide work up.

What's been happening so far is that people have been creating their own rough drafts and will ask the group what should be changed

Each person has their own thread, but we try to help each other out when we can.

We have split teams from researchers and writers, and try to play to each other's strengths

I know it's very, very low priority since he's basically a dead cow now, but I'm sad Cosmo Wright never get a detailed and informative OP. His thread was made 8 years ago and was basically "we all know who this loser speedrunner is, here's a thread" but since it's been massively irrelevant since then, I really doubt the newer Kiwis have any idea who he is or was. It's even worse since his thread was made a while after his fall from grace to JOHN FUCKING NUMBERS and Soylent, so it was already a post-mortem in a way. It's a shame since some of Cosmo's antics were very amusing and he's one of the few lolcows that has a bona fide film festival documentary about him, though as a famous speedrunner instead of an infamous tranny.

Last OP rewrite I did was in the Dobson thread, I've been throwing around the idea of rewriting JustinRPG's OP. I may need a lot of time and booze considering the subject matter but he's a classic Lolcow who is almost wholesome compared to how awful some cows are now.

I honestly wouldn't mind doing Cosmo, considering I watched quite a bit of his content a few months ago. I'll keep it on the back burner if I it hasn't been done already.
