The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I was never a fan of Life is Strange, not because I couldn't see the value in a narrative-based experience, but because I fucking hated the writing, which was pretentious as fuck and loaded with what I can only describe as an Autistic French Canadian's attempt to make hipster-dialogue.

I can accept that I am fundamentally not the intended audience for this game, but A Night In the Woods was way better from my experience.

Cuckmann admits He she has an agenda.
„...when you finish your smoke to the last bit and immediately want another one..“
Yeah, no. Bad comparison.
And it also speaks volumes about your character. I‘m a smoker, I quit twice before and I never got addicted to the point where I needed a second one right after, you pretentious hack.

Apparently, according to E;R, the dialogue is scary accurate. I can't vouch for the validity of that myself, but I can almost believe it, given the location. (Pretentious Oregon art town).

Horrendous crunch time conditions.
Leak reveals shitty story decisions.
Joel dies horribly while Ellie is forced to watch.
You assume the role of Joel's killer, a woke muscle lady, to hunt down Ellie.
You also smash some pregnant woman's face or something.
Your hand is forced into killing/hurting very bad your favorite characters from the previous game.
Anita might have been consulted/Tropes vs. Women used for development tips.
Mass false DMCA claims thrown out as damage control.
Sony says "We totally found the 'hacker' responsible, it was a hacker, we've got the hacker."
You kill dogs and make their owners cry.
Joel might be a fucking rapist or even child molester. Did you like being the young girl's surrogate dad hero? Fuck you.

Lesson learned from this fiasco: never say it can't get worse. Never say that again. Optimism is dead.

I actually enjoyed looking through the stuff in the house. I thought that part was well done and they gave a lot of detail to mundane things like packs of toilet paper. But it was all totally wasted on the stupidest big reveal I have ever seen. A really bad example of how a teen should handle a relationship being sold as the greatest american love story. Lesbians good. Worried parents bad.

That game's redeeming factor was the '90s nostalgia and the lived-in feel of the house. Its biggest appeal was that messy living room with the big CRT and VHS tapes labeled in permanent marker. Upstairs, the woke sister's SNES carts were scattered all over the place instead of organized. It reminded me of childhood. The attention to detail in how people never put anything back was nice.

Too bad the ending is garbage. You're supposed to clap for your lesbian little sis as she runs off to make a huge mistake with an older AWOL PoC who may be facing serious charges. That coupled with what I'm reading about Life is Strange suggests a lot of narcissism and selfishness in these genderqueer narratives. To hell with anybody who might have ever cared about you. They probably would have voted Trump anyway.

They probably would have voted Trump anyway.

That is exactly the problem that the woke left have. They cannot understand why anyone would vote for orange man ("ORANGE MAN BAD!") other than because they are evil or subhuman. I don't think they even see people who voted for Trump, whatever their reasons for so doing, as an actual person so much as a big amorphous blob of everything that is wrong in the world but which wears different faces.

There's that shitty blue-haired girl game that was apparently commercially successful. I honestly can't remember the name of it though and all I remember was that it had a cringy "angry at my stepdad" storyline in it. She could like reset time or some shit, idk just looked like a Walking Sim to me.
That's the game where Josh tried to hook up two teenage lesbians, but ended tied up in a hipster college professor's sex dungeon instead.

The game was already sexist and problematic back then, huh

Hear me out guys. This is my expert analysis:

Lady kills dog
I don't want to kill dog
Not gonna buy

Have a limerick:

There once was a hack writer called Neil
Whose writing made SJWs squeal
Said his hero, "It's MA'AM"
But, to players' alarm
The incident with the golf club was real.

And a clerihew as well:

Neil Druckmann
Turned irredeemably into a cuck-man
When he shunned fun
In favour of identity politics and starting a conversation.

Yes, there are a lot of reasons why people might have voted for Trump. Most of them have nothing to do with Mexicans or walls. The woke Left has been so spun by the MSM and their ideology that they see 'teh Trump supporters' as phantoms whose lives are worthless. They might as well lie in the street and get their heads rolled over for how much they matter. It's the horseshoe theory at work. In the same way your relative might carry on about "the damned [whatever]" at the dinner table, the average hipster has probably never even met a Trump voter. They just know that they're out there, creeping around, going through the trash and plotting LGBTQ+ murders.

Glad you brought this up. It's funny how there was a time when the usual suspects decried the first game. Ellie wasn't a strong enough female protagonist because she hid and stayed back instead of doing a lot of fighting, and during some moments cried (because she was fourteen fucking years old.) The dude holding her hand was just another cishet straight white boomer protagonist instead of a burly black MtF trans representative checkboxing the Eight Points of Diversity. Now these same people, oddly enough, will talk about how much The Last of Us meant to them and how badly they've been looking forward to this wonderful sequel that wasn't made for you, bigots.

Continued:

This Druckmann was smug, "My sequel will be a great sensation!"
But an employee sprung up, "Hubris and crunch are a frustration!"
And so the disgruntled cog became his own wrench
Threw out his leaks, like a gold-showered wench.

And Sony was aghast, pre-orders started falling
As o'er the net, "MA'AM!" memes started soaring.
Censors and gags, such was this drama's calling.
All o'er Druckmann, and his Sarkeesian cuckolding.

"But I AM Joel!" screamed some disheveled voice actor
As though his clubbed head was a game-changing factor.

To be fair, that depends on how much booze and cocaine is involved.

They would have to go that far. It's not even implied that Joel has been an absolute monster before meeting Ellie, it's outright stated. After the car ambush, he flat out tells Ellie he has been on the ambush side. Joel ambushed and murdered innocent people that tried to help someone they thought was in trouble.

Either Joel raped someone, or before the apocalypse he said nigga on Twitter and people finally found out.
If they are going to try and destroy his character, it will be something like that. Because it seems to be a thing with woke media properties - I last saw it in Birds of Prey. Your villain can murder innocents, engage in all manner of crime. But their true villainy, the real reason you should hate them, apparently? Is because they're sexist. Misogynist, even. They don't respect women, and that's worse than murder.

Which only works on people whose empathy is so stunted that they can't relate to wrongdoing unless they've personally experienced something similar. An affliction, strangely enough, affecting all SJWs.

"And later when you switch to Abby, we really wanted to reestablish that connection between you and how you interact with this world we've created, especially in terms of what options are available to you in response to these harsh threats. For instance, we have what's called Surge, where Abby can inhale very deeply and then unleash an explosion of testosterone power, sending everything around her, people, Infected, pets, flying in all directions. She also has what we call Unresolved, where the more damage she takes during the game, the more the meter fills. Then in this rush of unchecked aggression and rage, she can suplex Bloaters and slam Clickers together."

"Surge, Unresolved, all of that, is all part of our unique vision that we've crafted, and these difficult decisions you will be forced to make."

I didn't watch the video, but please tell me that's not actually a quote from it.

I know, I'm probably being a bit dense, but where this glorious mess is concerned I can't quite work out what's real and what's a joke or a meme.

The video doesn't even mention Abby (I wonder why?) It's entirely focused on gameplay as Ellie, and how Ellie can utilize stealth mechanics in the environment by hiding under cars and lying prone in tall grass. But because you can hide under and in stuff, they enhanced the enemy A.I. so they will eventually start checking dark spaces with like flashlights.

There's also a Dodge feature in fights. And they added a jump button so you can leap from derelict vehicle to derelict vehicle. You used to be able to just climb stuff, but now you can jump, and not just a reaction command either. Like, tapping Circle lets you jump.

You have to make tough choices to survive in this game. They really want you to feel like Ellie when you make these tough choices.
